They would have had to film it in like 1990. Chris Reeve was already 34/35 when Superman 4 came out. Would have been too old really any later than that.

Will the Canadian release be the same as the U.S. one? I've been checking Canadian sites (Amazon.ca, etc.) and there's no bilingual art (yay!) or anything.

Ideally, a world should be built for the character to live in, and IMO Burton's Batman films are the best live action representation of the character to date.

How ironic. I worked as a projectionist at a theater that opened the original back in 1989 (aside: something you don't see anymore are lines that wrapped around the building multiple times... I kinda miss that). We were instructed in no uncertain terms, not to use any "bat-this" or "bat-that" in our promotions, or anything else that might recall that series. WB went to great lengths to distance themselves from the 60's cheese-fest.
I believe Nolan's is the best live-action representation of the character as Nolan's version is based on Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Grant Morrison and Danny O'Neil's visions while Burton is based on Bob Kane and Bill Finger's 40s versions. And O'Neill, Miller (first 2), Alan Moore and Grant's takes are my faves as Nolan's movies represents those visions on film.

And the grounded thing is Frank miller's world on film you know and the way gotham is portrayed even like Denny o'Neill's.

Nolan's is based more on Michael Mann's Heat than it is any Batman comic, from what I understand.

(Which to be clear I think is a good thing )

One thing that I've been missing in the batman's film outings thus far is the world's greatest detective aspect. To me that's one of the most interesting aspects of the character. It'd be nice, though I'm not going to hold my breath, to see some of this in Affleck's rendition.

Huh, I quite forgot I even had this pre-ordered. Since I cancelled the TV series set (sob) I guess at least I'll have some Batman winging its way to my door, huzzah.

Let me fix this for you:

Batman Begins: James Bond love letter

The Dark Knight: James Bond crossed with Heat.

The Dark Knight Rises: James Bond crossed with Enter The Dragon & Rocky 3.

I find this funny and illogical, but one thing is for certain, Skyfall ripped off Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, not the other way around.

Does anyone have any info on the U.K. version of this? I am interested in the exclusive extras, but I can't find it on Amazon.uk. Thanks in advance.

It's a Zavvi exclusive, and has some unique extras tht the US version doesn't have, but might be missing the "Batman: Birth of the Modern Blockbuster" featureette that the US release lists.

Zavvi's listing seems pretty thorihg as far as what's included. They don't mention the new extra found on the US reease. Similarly, the back cover for the US is up, and it makes no mention of "Batman Reunited". "The Making of a Hero", a British produced doc will for sure be exclusive to the UK

Thanks MifuneFan! That explains why I couldn't find it on Amazon. I just preordered it. Thank you for the info and the link.
