This shows you how old I am. I actually auditioned for the role of the boy when I was living in Colorado Springs. It was simply an open casting call, and the producers had rented out a condo to have us come in and do a scene with a video camera rolling.

The camera instantly made me nervous, so that shot down any acting career I might've had. And when I was finally old enough to see the film, I was like, damn, there is no way I could've done what that kid did.

Is this a worthwhile upgrade? I have the DVD already.

I am not that big a fan but I can appreciate his work. Eyes Wide Shut and Clockwork Orange are quite difficult to watch, not to say they aren't good but they aren't the kind of films I would want to revisit regularly. Sort of like Antichrist if you know what I mean.

However this and Dr. Strangelove are my favorite Kubrick films.

Yeah I understand. I love A Clockwork Orange and could watch it over and over, it's just great. I guess this just depends on what you want

If you don't feel you need it on Blu then don't get it

The Blu-Ray is mandatory if you're a fan of the movie. It looks beautiful

I still prefer the shorter UK cut... the US version always dragged on too long for me. And Kubrick hated Shelly Duvall so much that he cut a bunch of her awful dialogue out of the UK edition. It's a faster paced film, but, on the other hand, the longer US version is more of a slow burn.

I'm wondering if I should get the UK cut just to see what so different. I have always watched longer US cut.
It's weird-I love Dawn of the Dead but I prefer the Argento Cut to both the Theatrical and Director's Cut of the movie.

It has more to do with the soundtrack done by Goblin than anything else. The music on the other versions is just to out of place to me.

Great movie! Great price ! Worth the upgrade ! Great PQ love the detail in the hotel scenes. Never noticed the great detail in the wood and rugs of the hotel on DVD.

I'm actually in Aus, so we have the same disk as the UK. But I own the US one. Watching my US BD was the first time I had seen the longer USA version. My friend who watched it with me had never seen the US version either. It was quite a buzz seeing all the extra scenes for the first time

Let me just say this, after viewing the Blu-ray I rented, I felt like burning my DVD. I can't think of many other movies more deserving of an upgrade. It's pretty phenomenal on Blu-ray.
