I placed two orders with DF in the last couple of weeks. I was very impressed with their shipping. Some of the price gouging is a bit sketchy, but I got the Ultimate Drive-in Collection for $59.99 and thought that was a good deal. I'll definitely order again in the future as long as the prices are reasonable.

I'm happy you can see past that. Unfortunately, i cant get behind it. DF is too childish and Bill is too much of an jerk.

I understand wanting to be close to your customers. What they do isn't a bad idea, its just run by people i can't get behind.

You're welcome for my not buying out DF's stock and retiring early. It's my way of giving back to the community.

I was asked to explain, so, here goes.

1) Bill's speech is not unintelligible, never has been, so, my guess is, he does tis as part of a character he has invented for himself. In other words, The Bananaman makes unintelligible (and quite funny) posts.

2) My great grandfather talked about presidential behaviour, describing an ancestor, to teach me how he thought I should behave. When asked a question he didn't want to answer, the man would simply answer a different question. Over a hundred and fifty years later, the newest president became famous, overnight, for doing exactly the same thing. There is no rule of etiquette requiring that anyone ever answer a question they don't want to answer, or the question posed.

I am told, commonly in life, that the same thing people hate here, that I answer as well as I can, is a good part of why people like me. Here it is seen as bad. If I were Bill, I would assume no one who criticizes thorough and clear answers would ever want me to give them a decent answer to anything.

3) I imagine he complains here, about that issue, because he has fallen into the trap of believing that the people who would buy his films are all here. We're not. Most of my friends buy his films exclusively from Amazon and only buy films from Amazon. The ones who order from him, in our little network of shipping-cost splitters, routinely try to get others to try ordering from another source. They won't. If he wants to sell out a title, all he needs to do is set up an Az Marketplace store and fill orders quickly. Titles will sell out to all the people who don't even know there is a blu-ray.com.

4) Bill has never had a replacement program, again, I imagine, because he thinks the people who buy from him are represented by the people here, the same people who pick on each other and behave rather badly. If he thought all of his customers were like me or DD over at DF, people who genuinely love these old movies but who are also good people, he would view his customers differently, necessitating a change in how he treats them.

5) For the "never thanks anyone", see answers 3 and 4, above.

6) VS is treated well. They are complimented routinely. Even when complaining about what I see as a bad decision, cutting the peeks line, I made clear statements that VS is one of my favorite companies. When complaining that they raised their prices too high, so I had to buy from Amazon, when I prefer my money go directly to them, I made clear statements that they are still one of my favorite companies and stated that I want them to have the money, not Az, even as a person who promotes Az openly and in contexts that are not relevant.

In other ways, that I will not detail here, I go out of my way to help them sell more product, as I do for Code Red and Scorpion, and have done for years. I go so far out of my way as to spend time on the phone with reps at two companies to make sure that my aid is actually translating into more sales. If it is not, I endeavour to fix it. So great is my desire for more films. If CR was treated like VS, with honest compliments coupled with constructive criticism, I imagine CR would treat customers more like VS.

Trouble is, the only way to prove that would be for everyone here who engages in sniping and rudeness to suddenly behave like me. Given how much I am despised, by a vocal minority, I can't imagine anyone really wants to take up that particular challenge.

7) For the answer to the issue of why he doesn't openly engage with his customers, see all above answers.

Hope this at least partly answers your list of questions.

Remember, all things Bill can be discussed in the CR forum and DD over at DF is his own man. His customer service is quick, courteous and on par with VS. His shipping is quick and accurate. I don't really think this board is the place to discuss all of these old issues with Bill, given that he is in the middle of a huge business model change, after the killing of the cartel store.
Wow.

You just tried to defend every single one of Bill's unprofessional faults that he has been doing for years, even before blu-ray. Key word being, "years".

Also, I don't need to know about the woman's loins. How is that relevant to your issue with prices? Just a little icky, fyi. Are you the woman with the loins or do you know her? What was the context that involves you?
ever notice when everyone else is saying one thing, but you're saying another & you still think you're right? Maybe you were more successful preaching in your mega-church, or was it being a lawyer, or a writer, a man, a woman. WTF....just linger & stfu.

No. But I have noticed that the majority of the time I think I'm right, where others think I'm wrong, I turn out to be right. Unfortunately, the rest of the time I turn out to be wrong.

I never preached in a mega church. I lectured on a topic unrelated to religion, in different venues, including mega churches. Really don't understand all the hate of buildings large enough to host such an event, but, okay.

I was never a lawyer, as anyone reading what I post would know. I studied law as an adjunct to studying criminology and criminal psychology, as many do. Law is, for the most part, the opposite of criminology, in that law is remarkably boring.

As to writing, you posted about it with anger and judgment, as though academic research and academic writing are unrelated to the performance of the job, criminologist. That's just a weird belief you have there. For the record, people in academic disciplines are often called upon to research, write and lecture. Knowing that might help you in life, down the road. That's what makes academia kind of a pain, for those that get stuck there, and a lot less fun than other branch avenues for that particular career, of my four, I think it is now.

As to your disgusting language choices, abbreviation doesn't change meaning. If you are willing to write such a revolting thing, that is your right, but it is my right to say that your inappropriate language in unwelcome.

This board is meant to discuss Dark Force, and, if the occasion calls for it, the partnership between Dark Force and Code Red. It is not meant for individuals to gender shame other individuals or to shame other individuals for having had, of all things, jobs, nor is it meant for the exchange of curse words.

Please keep your rude impulses to yourself and place me on your ignore list, if you are unable to obey the rules of the forum and refrain from the use of inappropriate language.

As for me, I am glad that the new DF store is doing so well and that the new releases are selling, because, as always, that means more releases in the future, for those of us who like the films and want to see more.

That one's a bit violent for me but the friend who wanted it, as a blind buy, says he loves it. If that's one of your enjoyed subgenres, I bet you will too and I hope you do. It has a nice transfer, from what I remember.

I'm surprised to hear that you feel our prices are outrageous personally. We do free shipping so that automatically takes 5.00 off of each movie which most places charge for shipping. So that makes the average price of a new release on blu-ray about 19.99. The only ones that are obviously higher priced are the rarer Code Red titles which I thought we were doing the fans a favor by getting. The reason those are higher is we have to pay a whole lot more to Code Red to get them otherwise we would gladly have them the same price as the others or lower. But regardless even those are way cheaper than what they charge on Ebay for the same movie. Unfortunately there is only so low we can go to make this work as a business. These movies do not sell huge quantities for anyone any more. When we switched to the new store site we were very tempted to drop the free shipping so people could clearly see the real price without the 4 to 5 dollars that goes to shipping in there. Maybe we shouldn't bother with the "OOP" ones either. We don't get very many and definitely not the brunt of the business obviously.

Ebay prices should be irrelevant to a sole label's distributor. Anyone with an ounce of class should know that.

Given he can get along with Bill, when Bill is ornery from being ill and getting picked on, non-stop, by people who apparently believe you can have class and pick on people, at the same time, I'm thinking DD is a classy guy. I'm also thinking he has the right to list a title at the base, Bill price, and add what he needs to cover shipping and, also, to pay himself. Since when does having class require working for free?

Anyone who may still be in doubt about our resident verb-obsessed member's gender look no further than this facebook post

https://forum.blu-ray.com/attachment...5&d=1546866304

The only thing she lied about was her age - she's much younger (judging by that photo). Or not, lol. Sarah, huh?

Now, that's just wrong. I see that and wonder how young she was when her mother passed away.

That's the kind of interaction you would expect from a girlfriend, in private, not a stranger on the internet, in full view of the public. Why do people keep posting that here?

That young woman probably does have parents who wouldn't like seeing that shared again and again.
