FandangoNow Moving to Vudu

TVOD stands for transactional video on demand. TVOD is a VOD service that allows you to buy content on a pay-per-view basis.

Receiver prices have definitely gone up. Bought a receiver last year for $350 and bought it again this year for $450. On the other hand I've noticed some nice sales on speakers lately so that's nice. On a related note I'll be changing my Atmos speakers from front height to on-ceiling soon. Really looking forward to that. I'll have to rewatch most of my collection with all the additions to my home theater system.

Loved the first one. I cannot remember any other movie that made me want to take a shower afterwards like the first one did. Suspenseful as hell and then it took that turn.

Are you planning on picking up the GI Joe 4K releases? Bummed they don’t have new audio tracks, but I still am thinking I will grab them at some point.

Yes but I will wait for a sale. They're not near the top of my list but wouldn't mind having them in 4K.

To tie in with the future of home media section of this thread, more on this Object Based Media/Object Based Broadcasting and Perceptive Media.

I am becoming more and more convinced this is going to infringe on film and I’m not sure if that’s a positive thing.

I am not going to comment about this a dozen more times; I already did that in your thread, but I will reiterate that OBB/Perceptive media is just another potential way to experience content.

Naturally, because it is something new you are afraid of it. It remains untested with audiences and therefore its popularity is entirely unproven, but we may as well start to about its impact on everything else now. My prediction is that it will have no adverse effect on traditional movies or TV shows. If you don't like this new concept, no one will force it upon you.

This ties in to the future of home media as it would affect the future of Digital and disc.

I did not say that this topic was inappropriate for this thread. I said it was "better suited" in the thread that you created for it. Posting about this topic in multiple threads is redundant and it demonstrates your obsession with this subject.

I also do not believe that it will have any significant impact on either digital distribution or physical media. It is an untested and unproven concept that at most represents another entertainment choice. You always get scared when we are potentially offered any new choices.

There are articles/ posts right up to 2020.

It’s not just BBC, it’s Sky, BT (who handles telecommunications for the entire country) and Cisco.

It’s tv but the same tech can apply to film, streaming, broadcast, radio, podcasts etc.
