Jurassic Park IS definitely about the sound more than the picture.

Key scenes cause panic and emotion with just a basic image on screen. ie: cup of water resonating from T-rex steps.

Of course it is the combination of A/P that make it up however I would say for the key scenes that 60% is accurate on an estimate of how important the sound is for this particular movie.
I was 12 when Jurassic Park came out and went to see it in the theaters and it terrified me. When it finally came out on VHS almost a year and a half later, I still enjoyed it, but wasn't scared by it anymore. A few years ago, I watched it for the first time in (loud) surround sound and it clicked again. A movie I've seen dozens of times suddenly left me rattled all over again. I agree the sound plays a big factor into JP compared to most other movies.

Been watching these in order all day on the 3rd....The Lost World is definitely the best transfer I’d say so far...and I have to say probably one of my favorites from the originally trilogy...the t-Rex in the city is a favorite....looking forward to putting in Jurassic world in 4K!!

Nah. They’ll want to pick up the stragglers who don’t want all the other films eventually.

I was lucky enough not to get any scratches, dents or spine slashes on my 2 steels...then I looked closer at the 4k one and it doesn't latch shut. It's constantly pried open a little bit. Is this a common thing with steels? Out of all the ones I have, this has never happened before.

Got rank hyperbole... lol Classic.

This year has released the most staples of home video yet. Seems like it's only ramping up each year?!

It's a possibility 8K running into it's future self causes a chain reaction, that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum... and... (oh, wrong franchise)

I was watching JP on BD last night to see how it looks upscaled and I noticed something I never noticed before. It's during the scene with Dodson and Nedry. You can't see it very good in the YT clip because the quality is so poor but on the BD and I'm sure it's in the 4K too, just keep your eyes on Dodson's shirt. It's hard to describe it but it's almost as if the camera is shooting through a pane of glass and what we are seeing is being reflected on the glass in silhouette. Weird.

Still hadn’t pulled the trigger on these due to very mixed reviews!

JP1 is of course a classic, I enjoyed 4, and I don’t even remember 2 & 3. Also seems like a lot of people aren’t happy with either packaging style (scratched discs, loose discs, steels not closing tightly), just don’t know what to do.

JP1 upgraded to 4k in iTunes for me. Is the disc version much better?

I'm extremely satisfied with the 4k collection and would highly recommend it. It currently is my favorite 4k in my collection right now.

They'd better hurry up then before 3D is back and 8K starts the new rage.

Wait a sec, JP and JW are already in 3D.

True, the last couple months we've seen a boost in 4K...catalog titles and newer ones too from Disney.

I gave Universal a jingle and requested a replacement set. They said they can’t exchange individual discs so they’re sending a new set. I asked if it would be a steelbook set since it’s an exclusive... she said it probably would be but I’m not convinced. Just want a better copy of 3 than what I have... World, too, since I really like that movie.

As you said, hopefully individuals will come out eventually. I’ll replace whatever discs I need to that way.
Did they allow you to keep the current set or do you have to send back the scratch disc's?

So now that I’ve finished all four films, I have a strange confession to make: I found Jurassic Park 3 to be the most entertaining movie in the series, by far.

I love what Don Davis (The Matrix trilogy) added to John Williams' themes in JPIII. "Billy Oblivion" is one of my favorite tracks throughout the entire series so far.

Yeah, while my steels don't have any noticeable dents, scratches or slashes, the steel for the 4K SB won't stay shut due to the latch having little to no bump for the clip to to stay shut. The reg BD SB would be the same way if it wasn't for at least of the two latch having a bg enough bump for the clip to stay shut.

I noticed this too, it's like a vertically shifted ghost image. When he exits the cab you can clearly see the telephone pole and his own hat/head silhouetted in his shirt. Maybe a bad lens or filter.
