American Buffalo was a Film Four/Capitol Films production that was released by Samuel Goldwyn in the US and Film Four overseas. MGM (who inherited US rights from the Samuel Goldwyn/Orion ownership) were the ones who licenced it to Twilight Time originally. MGM's US distribution rights expired after they granted Twilight Time the licence, and even though their BD was out for a bit TT did originally announce it going OOP with all remaining copies to be destroyed. Once my final order arrives, I will have purchased over 200 of the 380 titles TT released over the past decade. I'm saddened to see that they are closing, but it seems like the time has come.

While I haven't always agreed with the company's business practices, when I look back at what they accomplished over the past ten years, I have nothing but appreciation toward them for exposing me to so many films I'd never before seen--or in many cases, even heard of--prior to their blu-ray debuts. I was also able to significantly expand multiple areas of my collection: Film Noir, 1950s Melodramas, Woody Allen films, Westerns, War films, Audrey Hepburn vehicles, and the list goes on and on.

The vast majority of these titles will likely never see another physical media release, so my Twilight Time blu-rays will occupy a treasured place in my collection for many years to come. If anyone from the company happens to read these boards, please accept my sincerest thanks for a job well done.

Oh, and one suggestion: the thread title should be changed to "Twilight Time: 2011 - 2020".

This could be a rush of purchases caused by the announcement that these are the final prices. So it's buy now or watch your wish list maybe go OOS.

The TT staff is going to have a bunch of orders to fulfill tomorrow for sure. Wonder if SAE will match the pricing.

It's really a Shame this happened to Twilight Time. I have many Great Classic movies from them in my Bluray collection. Who will be releasing the rest of the Fox Classic movie titles now ? Who will re-release the titles that Twilight Time had released United Artists,& Columbia ??

The Fox titles minus maybe the title here or there from Criterion are probably not going to see another home video release. There will be a new distribution agreement for MGM/UA this July so I could see some titles maybe via Kino, Eureka, and other labels. The Columbia titles maybe via Sony MOD service. Good chances are however that many of these titles probably won't see another BluRay release.

Just for kicks I plugged the numbers into the USPS Calculator trying to see what cost a family member could ship it -- 18 discs packed in a lightweight box is going to weigh almost exactly 4 lbs with fairly minimal packaging and not even a medium strength box (20 items gets you 4.01+lbs with virtually no packing material). Best USPS 1st Class International price for 3.99lb is $67USD though and Priority is only $69USD so it's not even like TTM is adding a lot.

I think we’ve been spoilt by Amazon and other companies like DeepDiscount... but these titles that I selected weren’t stuff that I would normally grab... these aren’t Arrow or Criterion Even shopping from the UK isn’t this high .

Just realized the first titles to be available for order on the TT web site went up for order on 1 Jul 2015, which will be exactly 5 years by the time the TT web site ceases operations.

Thanks, Twilight Time, for showing us, introducing us to, and rescuing from oblivion, many many wonderful films over these past nine years. You were truly one of the greats. Just purchased the last six titles on my wishlist. Either now or never, it seems.

for the people who are complaining about their business practices, please enlighten me to the other small labels that were just rushing to put out some of these titles? was anyone else putting out the hot spot or romeo is bleeding or the seven ups?

twilight time did offer sales and at least they were all pressed discs that they were putting out. (unlike lionsgate with their releases for climax and in fabric) and they had menus. (unlike some early catalog releases) and you can’t say that some of their titles selling out quickly didn’t lead to subsequent releases later on down the line from other companies. (10 to midnight, vampires, the blob) is there any other label who offers isolated music tracks?

the more boutique labels we have, the more movies that will get unearthed. now we have one less places to provide movies that are not super well known. and that’s a loss of all of us.
