After the original, JP3 is my favorite from the sequels.

Lost World feels bloated and stiff. Too many one-note monologues.

Too many cameos and the cast doesn't seem have any chemistry.

Everyone in JP2 wears a black hat or white hat, it's pretty boring stuff.

With JP3, it's like a 90-minute waterpark slide...all fun & no BS.

Sam Neill is great in this, way better than Jeff Goldblum in Lost World.

Passing on 4K set, because the worst movies (JP2 & JP4) look the best.

There was absolutely zero mention of me sending anything back. “They may email you for proof that you own the set” was all she said. That, and they only send out replacements once a month so I may be waiting a bit.

I felt 3 was the best sequel as well. Sam Neil just feels like the glue to these.

Yeah, JP3 is cheesy but it's just a lot of fun. My wife and I were hesitant to even watch it after being bored to tears with The Lost World and just not really enjoying our second viewing of Jurassic World, but I'm glad we did. We were basically like zombies watching 2 and 4 but from pretty much from the get-go in JP3 we were engaged and laughing regularly, both at stuff that was supposed to be funny and stuff that wasn't.

Overall it just felt a heck of a lot more like when I remembered when watching the original in the theaters than anything I got from 2 or 4, and it was good to see Grant back. He is definitely the rug that ties this one together.

And sure, it wasn't the most impressive looking disc, but I was enjoying myself enough not to care. I also just enjoyed the more low-budget feel of the special effects compared to the more recent film. And the audio was surprisingly strong, which helped make up for what might have been lacking in the PQ.

Got the "Lost World" digital version only for 5$ now. This is perfect for me and the only thing I can profit from this release.

It's just a reflection from the filter, probably an 85 given that it's a daylight exterior.

I vastly prefer Jurassic World over the other sequels but definitely agree that III is better than Lost World, mainly for the reason you stated.

That's because it is. Maybe I'm entering semantics but "entertaining" isn't, to me, the only marker of best in a series or dealing with the watch-ability of any film.

I don't find "Goodfellas" particularly entertaining. It's slightly challenging and a grind to watch, to be honest. But I still recognize it as better than the first transformers, which entertains the shit out of me

Indeed. He, especially in that piece, captures Williams well. He and Giacchino are ready-made for taking the mantle on main Star Wars movies and other Williams staples (Indy etc) when the master passes. God, I hate uttering those words... But the guy is 85 or 86

For the record... at the time I was disappointed that someone else than Williams did JPIII's scoring. I do still think the movie suffered for it...

But ultimately funny that I didn't care that Steven wasn't directing, but I did feel a change of music was cause for calling 'ruination'!

JPIII is entertaining, no doubt, but its plot is so superfluous and the filmmaking on display is so bland I can't fathom ever saying it's the highlight of the franchise. Quite the opposite, in fact. TLW is much more distinctive overall (thanks to Janusz Kaminski's cinematography and John Williams' darker score), has more exciting characters (Tembo, Harding) and some of the best action setpieces (the attack on the trailers, the San Diego rampage).

I've seen Lost World a few times in my life and the characters are so distinctive that I have no idea who the ones you mentioned are lol

I just finished watching all 4 again and JP 3 is easily the worst. All the power to anyone that does like it, but holy hell I find it to be complete garbage. On the flip side though I love Lost World and never get the hate for it. I'd put the RV getting knocked off the cliff as one of the best scenes in the franchise.

The RV scene is fire, no question. Rest of the movie? No thanks.

I think it's the most comedic one, then Jurassic World.

So yes I agree, for good fun entertaining happy smiling time, JPlll is most adventurously funny. There are some parts truly super humorous. And the actors play their good part in this respect.

It's too bad that Universal didn't put as much heart as the actors, by giving us an inferior transfer. We forgive them, they have families to feed and they don't have the time and money to invest in the ones who @ the end help them...us their fans and customers and money providers. One of these days ...
