The "What's on your mind?" thread

I greatly dislike group work and also that the "group" decided it was necessary to wear costumes for our market day... however less than 4 people are actually in some sort of Halloween get-up. I have already taken off my google eyes and super large lime green eyelashes... but what is on my mind is how to make the group work stop! LOL.

When I was 33 years old I had to find work after being laid off from my previous job. This meant heading to a new city and pounding the pavement for work. I found a job paying $8.50 an hour and was low man on the totem pole. Sixteen years later, I still work for the same company and earn 50+ K a year. Hard work and determination is what did it for me. You can do the same.

Now that's a damn fine example buddy. You can't let anyone tell you what you're worth. And you're worth as much as you decide to be. Nobody said it's easy, but you have to go for it. Goals and dedication is the recipe.

I know, I figure the only thing for me to do is move to get a fresh start really. Seeing how there's nothing left in my area anymore for me. But that takes money like everything else. So it's not gonna be a easy or short journey, but I' gonna try though. So thanks for the words.

My Fellow Red Leafer.....take what you can get and try to work your way up through hard work. You MUST believe in yourself before others will. Grind it out dude and go the extra mile when others won't. Don't let others push you around and stand firm in yourself. You can do it.....Now let's go Bros.

I'm tired of my local Hastings trying to pimp their overpriced candy at the checkout. Every single time.

The other day, there was this young girl in front of me, I don't want to judge, but I think she was kind of autistic. She was renting some anime disc, and the associate asked her if she wanted to buy a Reeses peanut butter pumpkin to enjoy with her movie. When she whispered "no", the dude had to nerve to shake his head say "Well alright". The movie came to only 53 cents and she paid with a single dollar bill. She probably didn't have the money to buy the candy even if she wanted too.

I know pushing the candy comes from the corporate level, and it's their job, but I'm asking everyone I know not to be flippant about this anymore. Don't say "nah" or "I guess not". Look then straight in the eye and tell them "No".
