Seriously, who cares. The color of the eyes of any main or side character from the FF4 comic is not important one bit. |

His eyes are -very- often referenced in the comic, and probably because it's the one "thing" of him that remains mostly human. If memory serves, that and him referencing his "Aunt Petunia" are some of his most iconic phrases, the classic "It's Clobberin Time!" being obviously the most famous. Just one more thing changed from the comic ... and .. why? ![]() Not a big deal in the end ... and probably far from being the worst "thing" about this particular translation. |

"It’s worth noting that the Thing does have blue eyes in the international trailer for the movie. The trailer has been taken down from YouTube, but you can see a screen capture below."
But I do love the reaction that poster caused over the internet. |

I have been a little worried about this film since the beginning, and I'm still not 100% sold, but I'm more excited about seeing this then Ant-Man. With Ant-Man being a Marvel film, we know 100% what we are going to get, there will be no surprises. The chance of surprise was killed the moment they fired Edgar Wright, who I'm assuming was trying to do something a little different from the formula they set up. With this film, I have no clue what or how it's going to turn out.
I have been a big comic book fan for most of my life, mainly Marvel and Batman, but I can look past certain changes if it is right for the film. I hated what Marvel did with Mandarin in Iron Man 3, not because it was a big departure from the comic, but I thought it ruined all of the tension and momentum that they had built up with the character. They set up a really menacing villain, and in Marvel fashion had to make him goofy, so he wasn't too frightening for kids. On the other hand, Fox has changed a lot in their X-Men films, but most of the changes have worked, and I would personally put X2 or Days of the Future Past over anything Marvel has released. The first two Fantastic Four films were pretty close to the comics, and look how they turned out. FF4 is like Superman, in that the bright happy go lucky style that worked back then, just won't sell in this day and age. In those regards I'm fine with them making it a little more real and gritty for the times that we live in. America is not looked at the same as it was years ago, and I'm fine with them adapting comics in reaction to this. Anyway, I'm not saying this film will be good, as I really have no clue how it will turn out, but the unpredictable nature surrounding this film is almost more exciting. It could out really bad, but also hopefully, it could turn out to be amazing! Marvel films are those presents you asked for and are glad when you receive them, this will hopefully be that present you never even thought of asking for, but when you open the box, you are blown away and it ends up being your favourite gift that you received. Why should they not change? Should the makers go around and ask the fans of the comics and get a signed permission? or run a poll on forums to get every single aspect of the movie pre-approved before going into production?

These are details that have been set in comic book history for 50 years, and changing them smacks of disrespect to the material and the fans. |

Harry Potters eyes are green in the book series. That actually DOES have a purpose in the story. Guess what? They're blue in the film! Where's the outrage over that? That's right, it's only comic fans that get their panties in a twist. They aren't suddenly making The Thing into a marshmallow monster. It's just his eye color. |
