They're not great covers but at least they're consistent. And I like the bullets -> Matrix code -> rain in the background. Someone must have it in for Keanu though lol

I hate to be that one guy, but I need help with redeeming the digital code in 4K. I have done a couple of searches and nothing popped on the subject so I have tried on my own. How do you redeem this in 4k as a download?

I wonder what the actual cover will be, instead of the slip covers for the 2nd and 3rd movies. Still not a fan of the damn white rabbit, so if they are going to stay consistent, maybe I won't be a fan of the 2nd or 3rd covers.

So, about color grading inconsistency in The Matrix. People claimed there's nothing wrong with color grading.

Example 1:

[Show spoiler]Pay attention to the highlights on the PVC suit. The shot looks normal.


Highlights become cooler for some reason a second later, despite being lit by the same source - lamp near the window.


Suddenly everything is drowned in cyan, including background.


Back to normal. Notice the warm light of the lamp.


Slightly shifts to cooler again, but nowhere near as the cyan shot above.

All of this happens in span of seconds.

Everything is drained of color.

Example 3:

[Show spoiler]Normal colors, natural light.


Cooler colors, but desaturated for some reason.


Notice suddent bump in contrast.


Again drained in cyan.


One second later. Back to normal.


One more second later. Shift to cyan.


Neo near the same pillar. Cyan hue, but restored saturation. You can compare it to the second shot above.

I can make at least 20 more examples, because it happens during the entire film with few rare exceptions. If this is normal color grading job...

I've not seen any of the examples you are referring to. I may have missed it, my eyes could be bad (which is very possible), or my television could be crappy. Either way, I didn't see it. This presentation is spot on to me.

I have nothing to say to arguments like "my eyes could be bad". Could be, which is why people with good eyes can see that there's plenty wrong with color grading of The Matrix. Half-assed revisionism.

I watched this for the first time in about 15 years and I must say how pleased I was with how much I enjoyed it.

I didn't think it would hold up all.

It was absolutely breathtaking.

It wasn't an arguement, but rather a general statement. And also a bit of shade. I just don't see what you're talking about and there are others who don't see it. It's about as pitch a presentation as one could ask for. To me anyway. If you don't like it cool.

Agree or disagree - facts speak for themselves. It has nothing to do with your or anyone else's enjoyment of the film or presentation.

I concur. I finally got around to watching this for the first time last night and the presentation was phenomenal. No complaints whatsoever. I, too, thought the film would seem dated and it really didn't at all. There are only about 4-5 90s big beat tracks that play during the entire course of the movie and a couple of them are favs that could never sound dated. The highlights were good but the bright HDR never stood out except for the all-white scenes in the construct. It was a completely natural 4K UHD presentation and the Matrix has never felt this real.

10/10 UHD disc.
