Of course I realize this but why would several films sound great with it but World wouldn't? I'm especially perplexed by JP sounding absolutely incredible but the same dino sounds in World barely registering.

I'm on a budget with my setup (and have already received complaints about the amount of sound/bass produced anyway) and see no reason to upgrade when my soundbar can do justice to something like the Omaha Beach landing in SPR. I've heard it in theaters and in a swanky media room and my soundbar held its own, I swear to god. World is most definitely an outlier when it comes to being disappointed with the audio on my 4K discs.

You have to go by the 4K Spreadsheet, and it looks like Jurassic Park is Redeemed at Vudu to get 4K. There is always a disclaimer that 4K is not Guaranteed. Going by the Code Sheet is also a good way.

Just got it! I gave a few scenes from each one a look, so my two cents are only based on a very quick peak that might not be accurate of the whole movie.

JP: I think it looks beautiful. The HDR coloring/contrast is far better than either of the previous Blu-rays (for the record I'm one of the people who thought the Ultimate Trilogy disc was generally satisfying and wasn't a fan of the super-DNR-ed remaster, though the 3D was pretty impressive), with skies that are blown-out pure white in SDR now blue with pink wispy clouds, and generally a way richer range of different but well balanced colors. Detail and sharpness/solidity show improvement too--no doubt bolstered by the HDR. Now, unfortunately DNR is still pretty apparent in some scenes and that's an issue, but it's definitely never the waxy nightmare that the remastered Blu-ray was, and it never gets to a point where I don't consider it superior to the Ultimate Trilogy disc. Also though I should clarify that because of my age (I was born when this movie came out) the only one I really ever saw in theaters was World, so I might not be the best source of what is or isn't accurate.

Lost World: See above.

JPIII: Okay, so I might need to check out the Blu-ray again, cuz I haven't watched it on my current TV, but to my eyes the UHD did look more colorful and vibrant than I recall the Blu-ray looking, but there is a chance it's more an issue of seeing the movie on my new TV than the disc, because reviews seem to say that III is real dim and gray on UHD. This wasn't really my experience with the scenes I looked at but I might need to compare?

JW: Unsurprisingly, super pretty. There's something to be said for filmmaker intent, as this movie was a very blue-tinted somewhat desaturated affair in theaters and on Blu-ray, but the UHD is a very warm, vivid, natural presentation that definitely looks more appealing but isn't really true to the original presentation. Personally I prefer the warmer look but y'know.

Thank you. Vudu and MoviesAnywhere doesn't seem to work because I'm not from the U.S., but Germany. Is there any site that works in Europe as well?

Thanks a lot in forward...

Watching The Lost World the other night with the Mrs, who was seeing it for the first time, I finally saw where people who don't like it are coming from. I still love it, but objectively it probably is about on par with the third. It's also my favourite transfer of the four.

I enjoyed Jurassic Park III significantly more than I remembered. It's still very much an 'in one ear, out the other' kinda film but it's very competently executed for what it is. I guess it's a combination of now being old enough to appreciate the writing on the characters (where I assume the Alexander Payne credit comes in) and also the standards for mediocrity being a lot lower than they were in 2001. Transfer I thought was perfectly fine, much better than the overly sharpened BD.

Jurassic World is an odd film in that it's terrible, but while I'm watching it I feel as if it tricks me into enjoying it, only to hate it again once I'm thinking about it afterwards. That's how I felt when it came out and that's how I felt watching it the other night. Transfer was excellent as already stated by literally everyone.

Just put the first disc in my Xbox one S and upon playback the Xbox says your audio receiver can't decide this error 0x917000e. So that sucks... Thoughts???

Anyone made any JP covers for the blurays using the old Sunset/Jungle artwork from the 90s?

Oh my god, what a perfect way to describe it! I've been trying to put into words how I feel about that movie. Because whenever I'm not watching it and thinking about it, I hate it. But when I'm actually watching it I have a blast.

That's an indictment on the quality of the film. It's literally "throwaway" incarnate...

I would agree except there's just so many things in the film's screenplay that, at least for me, flat out piss me off. And it's exacerbated by the fact that the film was received so well not just by audiences but also by critics. Which is what I mean when I say the standards for mediocrity seem to be a lot lower now.

3 just felt like a direct to video release for me. I’ve never been a big fan of the series to begin with so I’m a little biased but I kept looking at my phone the entire time. I liked 1 but it’s not something I watch frequently and find it’s one of his weakest efforts. I was 13 when it came out and felt it was overrated, even when I was younger I never really watched kid friendly movies or shows. Aside from 3 I like the series but I have to be in the mood for them. If their presentations were stronger I would have enjoyed the movies a little more. Some of my most watched movies have never had a deserving release but I can overlook their PQ and AQ issues because I’m more focused on the content. I think this set will be the last time I purchase these, outside of newer sequels.

I always start watching Lost World with good intentions but I get bored. Its like there's too much rushed dialogue or something. And that "you're the guy" on the train at the beginning does my head in.

Same here! The Sega game artwork/poster was always my favorite...same with the Kenner packaging. It just seems so ominous. Wish Uni used it more, but whatever.

Totally agree. When I first saw JW, I enjoyed it while it was going on, but it left a very bad aftertaste. I think it's the worst of the sequels.

Finally got around to watching Part 3. Not a good presentation. Overly dark and grey. Colors don't pop at all. Detail was only slightly better than blu-ray, but who can tell when it is so murky. Easily the worst transfer of the series. Audio was good though. Thank goodness its for the worst movie. I agree with the poster that said it feels like a direct to TV movie. Probably the last time I will watch this movie again.

The Lost World disc was a revelation compared to this. And the score for TLW is criminally underrated.

I’m watching The Lost World now myself. I’ve never really had a problem with this movie AS a movie, but I was like 9 years old when it first came out lol. As an adult I definitely see more of its flaws, but I still like it. Funnily enough, after I read the books for the first time a few years ago, they made me appreciate this movie less and the third movie (which I never had a problem with in the first place) a lot more.

The picture looks amazing on this one though. I honest-to-goodness never noticed that there was a flower pattern on Kelly’s shirt. I always thought it was just straight red. Another detail I noticed for the first time is that the doors on the trailer have mesh on the window. I always thought it was just like a type of fabric.

I had to change to uncompressed audio and select 7.1 and it played (and sounded) excellent. Started Lost World tonight.

My guess is a other 4k disc with Atmos will need the selection made in the Xbox settings. Kinda stinks the Xbox doesn't automatically allow my receiver to play the best mix available... Has always worked well for me. Oh well!

The background suggests paradise; yet that logo reminds us of a past great carnivore that will be resurrected and the chaos that will follow in its wake. Simple and iconic. Very similar to the Jaws poster in a way.

I remember waking up on opening day, rushing to grab the newspaper to see the full color page spread with an indescribable amount of glee. I wish I had saved it for longer.
