Yeah, I heard good things about The Searchers too. The only John Wayne movie I've seen is Rio Bravo, and I enjoyed it, so I figured for $2.25 I couldn't pass this one up

Its not as amazing as Transformers or other Micheal Bay's works of art, but its not bad.

I haven't seen the movie. I'm just basing it on what others have said. So I'm not saying it's horrible. No need to get so defensive.

But it made about $10 million opening weekend and less than $40 million domestically on a $175 million dollar budget. And close to $150 million worldwide. So once you add in marketing costs it lost money.

I'll be getting a lot of John Wayne films soon. I already own True Grit. I ordered The Searchers from Amazon, which I should be getting tomorrow. I also ordered The Cowboys from Amazon for $1, but unfortunately that was cancelled. I also ordered the John Wayne Collection during a Foxconnect 50% sale. It includes The Big Trail, The Barbarian and the Geisha, The Comancheros, The Horse Soldiers, The Longest Day, North to Alaska and The Undefeated. It was $19.49 for all 7 films. Averages to be about $2.78 or $2.79 per title. Very good deal!
