I hated Fallen Kingdom. A buddy who went with me had his face in his hand for big chunks of it. It's a bad movie by itself, and it's a really bad movie if you feel any sense of warmth for the original.
Was it bad because of Pratt? I thought he was one of the worst things about World, however I also thought most everything else was sub-par.

Can't blame Pratt, he had no character to work with. They just relied on his affability to carry the film. The rest of the characters were one dimensional and charmless.

I'd say Bryce Dallas Howard was far worse. She is just so devoid of charisma and isn't cut out to play a lead role in a franchise film.

I find that ironic because that's exactly how I felt towards Jurassic World, but I seemed to be in the minority. Now apparently it all sticks out like a sore thumb in the sequel. Interesting.

Whoops. I was talking about the first one. Just meant to say I thought Bryce was worse than Pratt. All the characters were pretty bad but Pratt managed to do ok cause he's charismatic.

I'm suprised anyone thought "Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom" would be good. I'll say it again, "Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom" -
Same bottom level title as for example "Jaws 5: The Return"

Yeah, not only is the title pretty bad... The whole marketing campaign was a disaster.

Shocked to hear no 3D showings in India. All big Hollywood movies are released in India in 3D (converted or shot) and the audiences flock to the 3D showings rather than 2D.
This will seriously impact the movie's box office in India. Most screenings I find are going empty. People here are really disappointed about the lack of 3D for this. Some have even said they won't watch it if there's no 3D. Hollywood and 3D have become synonymous in India since Avatar and audience here won't have it any other way. I guess the exhibitors and distributors ****ed up, like they did during Ready Player One's release. That movie tanked in India due to delayed release. A Jurassic movie without 3D is unthinkable, this side of the world.

I saw the movie in IMAX 3D last night, and I have to say, the 3D was non-existent...

Although similarly, in the United Arab Emirates, a lot of cinemas here have given up on 3D showings and only playing the movie in 2D.

Seriously? How can IMAX 3D be non-existent? It's the best 3D format there is.
So, you saw no depth or pop-outs in the presentation?

I think there was too much happening to on screen for anyone to focus on the 3D effect. However, there were no popouts and no depth stood out for me. It might have been the projection... but yeah, bummed as I really loved the 3D of Jurassic World.

Is it just me, or have people forgotten how to have fun watching movies?

I think they have. This past 12 months feels like it has just been people criticising for the sake of it. By that, I mean watching films just to find faults in them.

I’ve just got back from watching this and I thought it was great. There are many nods that go back to Jurassic Park and The Lost World. The biggest flaw I can agree with is the music isn’t as memorable. There are a few notes here and there but this did feel like an entirely new score.

Owen and Clare were fine in this given the situation they were in. Some of it was predictable but it is a fun ride. They have set up the next film to bring in all matters of debates.
[Show spoiler] The next film is set up to deal with what happens with the dinosaurs living amongst us, what happens to those who were sold off and in the hands of the wrong people and the ethical debates of cloning people and how the science, has gone too far. Just like Ian Malcolm prophesied in the very first film. Anyone saying this didn’t take care with what the first Jurassic Park set up, must have been watching a different film to me because it has gone full circle back to the original. I fully expect we’ll be seeing Goldblum in a more active role in the next film, especially since everything he warned the world of back in JP1 and The Lost World, has now finally come to fruition.

If anyone is interested, the Rotten Tomatoes score is actually getting higher. It's currently at 69%.

The score keeps fluctuating between 68 and 71.

I don't think it'll get higher than this.. Which is a shame.. I think most critics are purposefully hating on the movie, based on some of the reviews I've read.

Example: One reviewer questioned why people would go back to the island if in all the other movies they were attacked by dinos...

Did we walk into the movie 30 minutes late or something?

Just finished watching it.

Its not the worst JP movie(JP3 is the worst, but still not bad cuz Im a dinosaur fnatic), but the first one is better. Its a bit like Lost World- two different settings/acts.

I love the horror elements here. Almost like Alien but with dinosaurs. I give it 3/5.
