She is not bad but it is not like Gossip Girl demands a lot from you. If the producers and Campbell were blown away by her then she must be able to act because Eva Green who Campbell cast in Casino Royale was up for the role as well and she is terrific. The Fact that he choose Lively over her should boost the enthuiasm back up.

I didn't say she was bad.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt based on Campbell and his team being pleased (blown away even) by her audition.

You did say her list of works isnt impressive! I got the impression you didn't like her!

If she's done less then 10 movies, how can her list be impressive ?

Perfect Example : lots of people here and i am one of them hated the casting of Sienna Miller as The Baroness and look how it worked out!

Good point there. I think with the right director, most people can be very decent actors. This girl (whom I never heard of before this news) had to pass the test, a very tough test. I have faith in the people in control of the movie.

I definitely agree with you here.

They've gotten together a fantastic crew, so I have faith that they'll choose good actors for how the parts are written unless it is proved otherwise.

Not hating on Gossip Girl but Supernatural and the Vampire diaries and also Smallville get better ratings for CW at least more then what Gossip Girl does. I can't wait to see her on Green Lantern if they were impressed then she must have been good.

That's one of the new shows on The CW along with Melrose Place ! The others are shows with new seasons!

Gossip Girl is doing quite well for it's genre!
