Just stumbled across this Kickstarter for restoration of the Enterprise D Bridge, though it was launched in October:

That's pretty cool. Looks like they hit their initial goal, but the ambition of the project seems to me to be way beyond the 20K they asked for. Seems more like a 100-125K project. Maybe he has a few investors already and just needed a little more from the public.

I cancelled my orders I had waiting for Season 1 and Season 2 together. I'll wait for the inevitable complete boxset a few years from now and a good sale on them whenever. 70.00 average x 7 seasons is just so much cash for this buying them as they come out. If someone put out the complete boxset for 500.00 right now, it wouldnt sell all too well, but that's the total cost doing this piecemeal.

More and more I am thinking I will do the same. I could see myself getting this on sale for $250 down the road (with all new extras and packaging we aren't getting right now).

I did my part by buying season one to show CBS my interest getting these restored, but I just cannot justify paying $400-$500 for any TV show.

$20-30 seasons are just about right for me for most shows, and I'm willing to go as high as $40-$50 for TNG, but that's absolute top tier.

I don't look at it like that. The way I see it, cut fast food out, couple other things for a month, and no big deal. 70 - 80 dollars at a time isn't too bad. I think I'd find it harder buying a set, then the individual seasons.

I'm on the fence. It's a my all-time favorite TV show. If it was any other show, there would be no question but to wait.

So what color is the case for Season 3 going to be? Can you reveal that?

I'm actually surprised that Best Buy is pricing Season 2 higher than the first season. That and the fact that it's not the featured TV release of the week in the ad, but that's fairly meaningless. I'll still likely get it to show my continued support of the restorations, but $59.99 would have been nice.

I'm sure you already know this, but with all of the restoration work being done on this show, this shouldn't be treated like a normal show. $20-$30 is a decent price point for regular shows, but a premium price for this is to be expected.

I'm not saying you have to buy it now of course, although I don't expect this to drop much anytime soon. Season 1 has yet to drop yet, even with Black Friday being last week.

If you're on the fence, do it! We still need to make sure DS9 gets done.

I won't be able to get mine day one this time maybe for Christmas!

I'll be happier if it makes sure we get Voyager.

Yeah, I know. That's why I'm still debating it.

Plus I just threw down on the $130 deal for the OS. $200 in Trek is a lot to absorb all at once!

Speaking as someone who paid $10-$11 PER EPISODE for this show on VHS (still can't believe I actually bought 176 individual tapes over the course of 7-8 years), then gladly paid $99.99 for each season on DVD, I'm more than happy with the $64.99 price tag. Especially considering how much extra value we're getting.

Understandable. I resisted the deal so far for the OS, so I guess that makes it a little easier for me.

By the way, for those interested, the ten and a half minute HD gag reel (incredibly funny by the way!) is presented in the Full Camera Aperture (aka Super-35) area that was available on the negatives and scanned... and you can see all the junk in the frame like C-Stands, ladders, the camera's matte box, french flags... and plaguing nearly every shot to either a greater or lesser degree, dark shadowing/vignetting on the left side of the frame (due to the lenses being mounted off center for standard 35mm shooting).

So, much like that one shot from "Lonely Among Us" that was shown on the S1 set in the great "Energized!" doc, you can see now in a longer form what kind of a nightmare it would have been to reposition the frame and/or erase objects to make it work in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. And all the compositions would still be shifted to the right in every shot.

Can someone please upload screencaps of the Phase II footage included in one of the special features?
