Be prepared to go on a wild ride. You see, you've fallen down the rabbit hole that is steelbook collecting. Soon enough you'll find yourself wanting videogame steelbooks...and then comes the importing. You'll find steelbooks that are region-free, and you won't be able to resist, so don't even try to. When it comes to buying, it's best to be at whichever store they're exclusive to at opening. Be prepared to sprint to the steelbooks faster than whoever else may there, and be prepared for disappointment as well. If you order steelbooks online, be aware that they may arrive damaged, either mildly or majorly, depending on how poorly packaged they are.

Apart from PSYCHO, there was also a LIFEBOAT SteelBook and a NORTH BY NORTHWEST SteelBook. Can't remember where they were from now. That was so long ago.

It is, you can tell by the exposed disc hub on the right get side.

this statement, because it happens a lot, I have been thinking of not buying Steelbooks any more. Its getting to be a headache that no one seems to understand out side of this forum.

you're ordering old SteelBooks now. Many of them could be damaged returns and perhaps you will never get a perfect copy from Amazon.ca anymore.

As for BETTER CALL SAUL, go to Best Buy and pick it off the shelf because that came out this week.

Buy them new, not old, from retailers. If you want an older SteelBook, buy it from a collector. That's what I do.

Never had a problem with Amazon.ca.

Forgive me if this isn't the correct place to be posting..

Sort of new to steelbook collecting(current collection: True Detective(Mondo), Moon(Zavvi),Whiplash(Zavvi) Drive (Mondo), Nightcrawler(Mondo), ; I've seen many different versions of the District 9 steelbook. I'm looking for the NON zavvi version WITH inside art...would this be the UK version?

....this site is awesome! I feel like I'm late to the party with so many of my favorite films but I'll keep on searching. Also, I feel like i need to learn a new language with all this lingo i've never seen before lol!

So far it seems that being in the US means it's going to be a pain in the ass to get steelbooks. Am i wrong haha? I basically know about mondo, zavvi, and.. Ebay lol.

Some additional things I'm in search of if anyone can help me out :
King Kong 2005
Ex Machina (non zavvi)
Breaking bad (does non zavvi exist?)
Birdman
Place Beyond the Pines
Dark Knight Trilogy (anything besides the basic ones that i see on amazon?)

Welcome to the addiction. Just wait until your first "KimchiDVD", "NovaMedia", "Blufans" (etc.) Steelbooks.. that's where the obsession really begins.

They are expensive... and can be rather difficult to acquire at first availability.

Region coding has nothing to do with which company releases the steelbook case for purchase. That is all based on the distributor of the disc in the country of release.

KimchiDVD and most other retailers offer limited editions (=small print runs) and have set preorder times (=quick sellouts). These KimchiDVD Exclusives (For example) are my favorite Steelbooks within my collection.

Each Steelbook has collectable swag inside: poster cards, booklets, etc.

They're pricey, but feel so worth it when In-Hand.
