Im on the ps3 they dont tell us what the numbers are for the set bonus they just inform there is one... instead of saying set bonus +1 to poopy power or whatever. Its kind of annoying me personally to not know the numbers.

I thought it was 30% on mine but perhaps your right.

And to answer another question that was put by beefbowl I think.. I have different armors that I could soon get party members into that are better then what they have. Sure would be nice to be able to save them for when they can use them.
Okay dokey.

It matters do you like story in your game, if you are someone that doesn't like deep stories with multiple decisions that can literally mean life and death for not only yourself but others and those you would call friends.

Ill try there, I thought I tried there and they were not selling them.. but again perhaps im wrong.

I had a character walk up to mine and ask me why do I want to be a man.. and I was like huih.. he told me a women could not fight, and thus if I fought I could not be a women, as there is no such thing as someone being a women and fighting.. I could only be one or the other, or a women trying to be a man.

Yes im playing a female mage

I sorta told the assasins that particular action violated my character alignment, I drew charts out showing character sheets and everything, he agreed that in the end it would not work out, so we shook hands and mosed on.

Have you played Demon's Souls as well? I considered between that and Dragon Age, but ultimately decided on Dragon Age. I think this one is worth a purchase if what you really want is a story based role playing game. If you're looking for something else, you might be disappointed.

I like the lack of respawns. Something killed should be dead. If you drag out your game fighting respawns just to increase your bankroll or loot, then you might as well just use a cheat code, IMO. Serves the same purpose and saves time.

No, but it was extremely easy to equip and look at my Con and Str before and after equipping, and that's the sole "Completing this set gets you <blah>" in the text.

Yes I got Demon Souls as well.. I was playing it before I got Dragon's Age.. I do plan to go back to it as well. Demon Souls is a great game too that I enjoy but compared to Dragon's Age.. there is no comparison.. But yeah if you got the cash I would recommend both games.. Dragon's Age is just a lot more fun.

What? Every single armor set piece has in its text a description of what you get for completing the set.

Load up Dragon Age and look at any set piece.

I know that if you 'Examine' an item it tells you in that box what set bonuses are possible (this is done in inventory via a dial that comes up if you right click on PC, not sure the command on PS3 but you can do it). If you just hover over it and see that description it doesn't say anything about the set bonus (nor does the icon that appears when you have one).

Per more DLC...

If you look at the 'Geography' in the strategy guide (prima p346, might only be in CE guide, not sure), it shows at least NINE other regions that are the size'ish of Ferelden. I would be willing to bet most if not all of those areas will be large scale DLC within the next two years. That's A LOT of big DLC.
[Show spoiler]if you choose the 'live' ending and talk to your party people on the way out to the crowds, Sten will tell you he is going back to Qunari lands and you have the option to go with him, he says something like 'the boat leaves from *i forget* in two days, be there and we can go otherwise I will go alone' or something to that effect. I would be willing to bet that Qunari will be a new race added in early DLC and that land will be where you can go next (scheron island maybe?).

Per the crafting supplies, DK...
[Show spoiler] you can find 99 unlimited quanities of everything needed to make health pots, mana pots and basic poison in many places with the specific ingredient in only one or two. Almost all bartender type shops sell unlimited flasks. You can get unlimited concentrators and distillation as well as flasks from the party camp guy (as well as unlimited trap things), but he is WAY more expensive for EVERYTHING. The Bartender in the Gnaw in Denerim sells them much cheaper. You can buy unlimited Lyrium from the quartermaster at the entrance to the circle tower (not the docs but in the tower by the door). You can get unlimited Toxic agents from the merch in the dalish camp and I think trap things too (good if you need a bunch of toxins for the irregulars quest). Finding the recipes for the Potent level of pots is a tad harder; however, you can get the Potent Lyrium pot recipe early game in denerim at Wonder's I think it was. The Potent Health pot one is only available after Landsmeet I think.

For those asking if they should load DLC right away... YES!!! It is totally integrated into the game (these first two mods anyway) and plays very well in the context of things. You'd be blowing it hard to not load it.

Per best armor... Juggernaut is the best 'basic' armor, but stat/bonus wise a dragonbone set of Warden's can't be beat (I should look up and post exact stats and set bonus I guess). I would probably wear the special Dragonbone FR resist stuff Wade makes in the quest a lot of times over Juggernaut even, actually, for the fatigue bonus alone (not even mentioning that most of the time the only potent AoE attack mobs ever do is a fireball it seems... I've never had them cast death cloud, grease, etc... Only one guy used Blizzard). Finally, it's a little more difficult to get the complete Juggernaut set early on (clearing all those areas) whereas Warden's Keep can be done early game and the armor just upgraded with sell/buyback when dragonbone is the norm in stores. Just make sure you learn all the ways to make mega gold while playing

Anyway, hope that helps.

Has nothing to do with making potions just trying to find componets for a quest. And I spent 2 hours going shop to shop and no one sold the blank vials now everyone tells me that I should look deeper on that im going to go to all the shops suggested as I possible just missed them.

Thanks for the tip. Im a bit disapointed in the quality of the startegy guide personally, I picked up the CE on sale.

I agree with the disappointment in the strategy guide. Usually Prima delivers; however, for some reason they really didn't do a good job of giving the technical information in a good format this time (reason I got the guide for this game was for data on how certain thing affect toons and specific item stuffs... not to mention the old NWN guide had a whole section on the toolset which this one doesn't even touch). The layout could be MUCH better and already needs some updating as I've found several things that just don't match the game or are different now in the release version.

Good luck.

Default New DLC Announced Return to Ostagar

http://investor.ea.com/releasedetail...leaseID=425466

Quote:
Leading video game developer BioWare(TM), a division of Electronic Arts Inc.

(NASDAQ:ERTS), announced today that the Return to Ostagar downloadable content (DLC) for Dragon Age(TM): Origins will be available for the Xbox 360(R) videogame and entertainment system, the PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system and PC versions this Holiday season in North America and Europe.

The DLC pack, Return to Ostagar, allows players to exact their revenge and embark on a quest for the mighty arms and armor of the once great King Cailan when they revisit Ostagar, the site of the Grey Wardens' darkest hour, to reclaim the honor and learn the secrets of Ferelden's fallen king.

"We are very proud of the phenomenal launch of Dragon Age: Origins and we're pleased to announce the next installment of downloadable content that will be available to fans of the game," said Ray Muzyka, Group General Manager, RPG/MMO Group of EA, and Co-Founder, BioWare.

"The Return to Ostagar DLC pack is a prime example of BioWare's commitment to give fans a game that continuously offers new experiences and further enriches a storyline that has already received critical acclaim and positive feedback from the players."

Return to Ostagar, BioWare's next thread in the Dragon Age: Originstapestry, summons players to a new quest in which they will return to the fateful battleground in Ostagar where the Grey Wardens were nearly wiped out. Players will discover King Cailan's top-secret political agenda and go behind enemy lines to revisit a place that many feared had been lost to history.

Return to Ostagar will be available for $4.99 on the PlayStation(R) Store, for 400 BioWare Points on the PC and 400 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 in North America. Return to Ostagar will be released this Holiday season worldwide on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation(R)3 console and PC.

Dragon Age: Originsis rated M by the ESRB and 18+ by PEGI.

Im playing a lawful good mage so thats probably the disconnect..

My entire party I pick are lawful good so it meshes together you obviously want to take the characters that complement your choices.

I had Morrigan in like a few points shy of losing her trust me the gifts it cost to sway her towards the right side of the relationship.. were more then I could bare, but I seek
[Show spoiler]immortality
So I need her around..

I think next play through im going to try to to either become
[Show spoiler] king or queen, as mages are denied those options
as they as dwarfs call
[Show spoiler]casteless...

I had to take Morrigan out in the begining of the Broken Circle arc because I didn't want to lose any brownie pts with her trying to recruit Wynne. The first time I played the broke circle arc, it ended in disaster. lol.
