On the LOTR FOTR (extended edition DVD) while Sauron is swinging his mace on the battle there are some LFE effects something like "broom","broom" type of sound but it can only be heard strong on the DD track but when I switch to the DTS track you can also hear it but is thinner compared to the DD mix. Does anybody have noticed that before? Is it possible that the DTS and DD mixes are somehow different? As a matter of fact when I hear that effect I know that my sub-woofer is working properly.

Let's make a list of tones for everyone to know! My personal favorites:

Blu-rays:

-28 Weeks Later:
Bombing of London during Code Red

-Cloverfield:
No specific scene, but when its raining debris and you can feel each footstep of the monster

-Kung fu Panda:
Fight between Po and Tai-lung

-Master & Commander:
Opening Battle, and turning Cape Horn

-Transformers:
Ironhide Sweep

DVDs:

-SW Ep. I: Phantom Menace
Podracing

-War of the Worlds
The Storm/Tripod (might just be the best DVD sound I've heard as far as surround use/LFE/detail/definition all in one)

These are the scenes that make your subwoofer chuff, rattle, reverberate - (notice I said yours, not mine, ) - let's keep em coming!
The WAR OF THE WORLDS blu is extremely loud and impressive for LFE, DETAIL, and DEFINITION as well. Probably the loudest Blu-ray audio mix I have ever laid my ears on.

Those sonic guns from Minority Report will surely give your sub(s) a workout.

Oh your subwoofer will love you. When I went to see it yesterday, I was quite impressed with the audio. The LFE is insane.
[Show spoiler]There are some nice shotgun blasts during a pivotal scene towards the end that were just insane in their bass output. The rest of the movie sounded just as good but that part really stuck with me.

This might have been posted already but near the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey when he is going through the portal thing, the LFE there is pretty crazy...

I recently did the subwoofer crawl (I know, "why didn't you do that in the first place?") and just watched The Last Airbender (an underrated albeit flawed movie) on BD. The bass that movie was constantly pumping in the house was insane. I'm shocked I didn't get angry shouts from my neighbours.

I'll add Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) to the list. Movie is ok but theres some serious LFE in certain scenes. The first that comes to mind is when that kid Jesse get taken by Kruger.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but Outlander has some pretty good LFE scenes. Especially the opening scene.

Everytime that Magneto uses his powers on X-Men: First Class. Especially on the scene where Magneto moves the satellite (felt like house was coming down on me)

There were several good scenes on this one. There was one part on Ch.15 shortly after Shaw stomps the ground after the flames burn out and they slide into the room with the big window - you see Riptide's swirl and it's not loud but the couch just started shaking and I could feel the room pressurize I had to take out my SPL meter to see what that was since I couldn't hear it. I was surprised to see the meter jump past 110db's on that part watching at -15 on my receiver . I wonder what fr that was at.

Here is a post I posted in the SVS thread.

Quote:
Ok guys, I just heard the most extraordinary amazing low level bass I have ever felt.

Funny thing, It was not a HD movie, but streaming from Netflix.

Being Human (U.K.) version, season 3, episode #4 called ‘The Pack’ @ 38min. It was a scene were the vampire was about to have sex, and he was losing control, and it was suppose to be his heartbeat. I was kinda falling asleep, and it woke me up, and I was confused and thinking ‘What the F*#k is that’… I kid you not, I thought my house was coming down, but not the walls shaking coming down. I mean pure power from something like two large jets sitting next to my home.

H… OOO…LLY!!!!!! SHIT!!!!!!!!!
