Mids are very close to the Sttaf and X-over is very smilar to the Sttaf which makes them sound so close. The 2 most versatile Totem speakers. Go up the scale it's like Dyn forget it your gear has to be top notch.

Anybody had a chance to the new Energy Veritas V-Mini Bookshelf speakers yet?

I'm itching to replace my surrounds/rears.

Not yet but I would think if you have a good price for the old RC-mini, the difference is not huge altho they certainly changed something for the new V-mini.

Hey guys!! Man it seems like forever since I've been here. Good to see some friendly faces around!

I'm impressed with the new Veritas line. I have yet to hear them, but they look sexy as hell and from what Big Al said, sounds like they are sure to impress. The spec on them look good too. I'm glad they included a mini version as well. A nice range of products to cover all uses.

Thanks, Big Al.

As you can see on the FS site, the RC Mini is only $10(?!) less than the new Veritas mini speakers. If I were to pick one thing I don't like about living/shopping in Canada...

I'm hoping they'll drop them to the $125 mark like they did in Sept.

Default Speaker Wall Mount

Hello all. I am looking for speaker wall mounts for my Energy CB-5 that I would like to hang on my bedroom wall.

What would be the best wall mount to go with? Do must wall mounts require you to screw into the wood speaker?

There is usually a threaded insert in the back of the speaker that lets you connect the mount too.

Something like this: http://www.omnimount.com/Product/Spe...ries/10-0_W-C/

Use the existing threaded hole.
FROM YOUR MANUAL:
WALL MOUNT OPTIONS (CB-5, CB-10, CB-20, CC-5)
(Diagram 4) These models can be wall mounted using the keyhole or threaded insert on the
back. The threaded insert is an imperial 1/4-20 (CB-5, CB-10, CC-5) or 3/8-16
(CB-20) thread and should be compatible with various aftermarket mounting
systems.

OMG I saw the Rosenut finish yesterday on the new Veritas and wow has nothing to do with the old rosenut on the RC, I mean this one is very high gloss, the speaker shines it's amazing they look even better than the Piano black finish.

Steve I mean you have to see it to believe it they look amazing and if they sound as good as they look I mean it has to be a great speaker, I wish I could audition them on some serious gear with real music. Madonnal on BDP on an HT receiver at FS is not the best.

Anyhow they Look awesome.

Well that is awesome Oliver... I have no where to listen to them tho.... hopefully Best Buy will put them in their Magnolia HT locations where they have the CF series.... but now they all have the B&Ws, which don't really impress me. My dads B&W 603 S2s are still better then the 684 and just as good, if not more rich sounding then the 683s.

I love to hear them, but Energy in SoCal, hard to find now.

Hi, I just joined these forums because of this thread. It's specifically what I've been looking for! I've actually found it quite difficult to find some decent feedback on Energy speakers, other than rave reviews (which is good).

I currently have two RC-Mini speakers, and an ESW-C8 Energy subwoofer. I'm going to be turning my system into a 5.1 soon.

Now, I'm sort-of confused about the bass on the energy rc-minis. It seems as though there's hardly anything there in terms of bass. I know these are tiny speakers, but is a quality system supposed to produce a tiny bit more bass out of the front right/left speakers? I know the subwoofer takes care of any powerful bass, but I thought the front r/l speakers were supposed to deal with a bit of it? I guess that's only if you have tower speakers? I don't even know.

Anyways, I'm looking to get two new bookshelf speakers, and a new center-channel speaker. I'm thinking of just going with two more RC-Minis, and an RC center speaker. However, I'm not sure if that's the best route (money is a bit of an issue, I don't want to spend much more than that would cost). However, would I see better performance with something like the CB-20's or something like that? And would the CC-10 be a better center channel speaker? Size isn't a huge issue in this case, however they do have to be bookshelf speakers.

Thanks for the help! I want to make this the best possible 5.1 system I can with the money I have to invest in it. I love the sound of the RC-mini's, however I just want to see whether it's best to get two additional RC-mini's to keep consistency, or whether it's a better idea to go with something less compact at a similar price-point.

Sound quality and clarity at any sound level is my main concern. I'm in a relatively small room with these, so loudness isn't a huge deal.

Hello Paul.

First welcome to the site. 2 things.

First the RC-minis do not have extension below 100 hz, that is why you feel there is NO bass, or very little. For a speaker to give you that impression it needs to get below about 60 hz typically. The RC-minis are meant to provide nice clean sound in the mids and above, you have to have a good subwoofer that can get up to the upper 120-150 hz range to properly pair with them. Unfortunately that means that the sub/bass can be localized, which is not a good thing. The bass is supposed to be an extension of the front speakers, and not noticed as a seperate speaker.

Ok, also, I am selling my C-100s and C-C100 center. I can ship them to you if you would be interested, and it will save you a good sum of money. Im upgrading speakers and the wife won't let me keep them... I am also selling my C-300s, but since you want bookshelfs... Entirely up to you.

I think C-C100 and C-100 wuld be a great addition to his setup and he could use the RC-Mini as surrounds altho I'm not sure of what receiver the OP is using. Does he ahve separate X-over for fronts and surrounds? He may not benifit that much of the bigger speaker if he has to set X-over at 100hz. True he could try using 80hz X-over tipically used in HT setups since the surrounds are not getting that much bass. Now Is the OP listening to music with the sub turned on? Is his setup tuned properly?

Many questions here.
