I loved how Godzilla did two things.

[Show spoiler] 1) he wrapped his tail around Kong to pull him deep under water and 2) his Wolverine type slashes to Kong chest.

I take it back, this is the perfect American Godzilla movie.

Bet you say the next Godzilla is the best American movie instead of this one. What I thought was hilarious was that there was a winner, technically, but, it was a faux pau on the part of Legendary's proclamations that there would be a clear winner.

Here's what it felt like to me:

Legendary says there will be a clear winner. I'm standing on the rug, Legendary pulls the rug out from under me. I keep thinking "Red Herring".

In other words, Legendary pulled a Toho.

No, they had evacuated. Probably a bit unrealistic that most would get out fast enough (but clearly this was not a movie to go to for realism), but shots of the city seemed to only have a few people in it, nor was the entire city destroyed.

I think the clear implication is the vast majority survived (I would have guessed more than 8 people died in the opening too but that’s the number which was given)
