lol!! Yep, it's an awesome set, go back a few pages and you can see what it looks like and what it includes, as I said, the European ones will be separate and apparently they will include one more book than what the Target Exclusive UE has, but that's not much of a loss, since most people are in it for the movies and for the last 2 parts of the 8 part documentary, and anyways from what I have heard from WB, the US will have a combo of both parts in one UE when they are released to all retailers, at least that was the info I had when I called them last, things change constantly, lol!!

I am afraid there has been a misunderstanding here.

Both films are included into the Target exclusive set, but they are not merged into a single film as Debbie asked.

Bummer. Thanks for the clarification though. I hope WB is planning to do this eventually.

Oops, totally misunderstood ur question, sorry about that, I'm a bit tired, lol!! But ya as Roy Batty stated, WB has not combined them into one film, I would think it's possible, however I kinda like the separation, I mean think about what The Hobbit is going to look like, 3 parts for one book, lol!!

I haven't tried redeeming them, and I probably won't redeem them, I have all the movies on itunes digital download, including Part: 2, I wasn't really happy with my UV copy for HP 7 Part: 2, so I complained and got a code to the itunes version last year, I'm not sure if they changed things since last year, but I wasn't a fan of it, the UV version didn't even go fullscreen on my computer, at least iTunes movies can do that, I think someone else mentioned there was an error with redeeming the UV copies, hmmm

I feel they would not go through that whole design process just for a very very short/limited Target exclusive, then scrap it and release them seperatley. To me all signs point to this being the US release. Again, pure speculation on my part. I am so happy with the combo completing the set, but I do love the UEs and will prob get the EU sets just to have em
A LOT of work??? big deal...they just printed photos of Part 1 in the box where Part 2's would normally be and added the s in Part and added the 1 and on everything for it to be Parts 1 and 2...big deal....if you ask me its a rushed work...a REAL combo would have maybe a new cover not a re-used cover from the standard BD...its awesome sure...but a unique combo like this was supposed to be, should be a bit different...

I think the point is, with a design already in place to go into production (if they are not already made), they are not going to put in the work to split these up and make another little book for the US. Yes, I understand they are being made for EU regions but its not that easy.

I think you totally missed my point.....the box design inner and outer was indeed reworked for this set including the size, pictures, text etc. yes it may not have been DIFFICULT but it was indeed a separate process. However, that was not my point. My main point was why even bother doing so for such a limited release. They could have just shrink wrapped the 2 sets together and given Target the release exclusive, but instead the reworked the entire design for this release. So I personally think this is the only US relase. Again, just my opinion.

Exactly. Take a look at the picture that arisgow posted. They just made the box for 7.2 a little bigger.

Warner is not shy about manufacturing a ton of garbage for Harry Potter -- standard release, Target exclusive covers, Best Buy exclusive cover for the single disc of 7.1, the Years 1 - 5 trunk set, the various collected editions with thin Blu-ray cases, etc. You get the idea.

All I'm saying is this.
Harry Potter is a British novel series.
Harry Potter is a British film series.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Ultimate Editions of any description in any form haven't been released over here in the UK, nor is there any listings, rumours or anything about it coming out over here.
You should all count yourselves lucky that the US even has this out for you to purchase.

It's funny looking at the 'Creating the World of Harry Potter' series because if you go back to the earlier titles "Story" wasn't included but there was one called "The Harry Potter Phenomenon" it was interesting the way story was just a sit down interview. Makes me wonder what phenomenon would have been like.

I have not missed your point but blu-ray_girl_fan made my point for me....does WB seem like they need money??? they are the guys that made the HP franchise....the guys that made the Wizard's Collection, the Smallville: The Complete Series, Gone With the Wind and so many other extravaganzas! They are theguys who will put the whole Watchmen hardcover graphic novel in a BD release for crying out loud...and the work has already been in process -to answer to mrmwforce earlier...for the EU release...they just needs to print on the boxes the english title...and as for why bother with the workfor an obscure release...it is an obscure release now...just wait...do you really see the UEs been shoved under the rag after 3 years of promoting the previous ones? I dont think so, not to mention that besides the WC they're the biggest HP releases ever....and the Years 1-5 trank...for crying out loud back in '09 they promoted the first two UEs more than they promoted the 'Half-Blood Prince' standard BD release which was new at the time...they are just waiting for the holidays...in November...I am convinced/hope for it....holiday season is always good for sales and HP has been a ginormus seller especially in the holiday season....think of SS (theater), CoS (theater), PoA (home), GoF (theater), OotP (home), HBP and UEs (home), 3&4 UEs (home), DH (home) come to thinkof it there havent been a holiday season since '01 without something HarryPotter-ish to be on the shleves for purchase...there you go...my point/opinion complete...LOL

HP

I'm pretty happy with the Target Exclusive UE, could it have been produced better? Maybe, but I'm not complaining about it, it's got everything I have been needing, plus I don't have to wait anymore, I've been wanting to complete my HP movie collection for a long time, and I can finally say it is complete!! I like the cover because it represents the climax of the movie (the US book actually has a similar cover to the UE, well Harry in action and Voldemort on the side), and as I have said before, it's one "book" as I would call it, and that's the way it should be, in my opinion of course, lol!!

One last note for those not near a Target store OR outside the United States - Warner Home Video already confirmed to SnitchSeeker earlier this month that the Ultimate Editions of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2 will be available for purchase worldwide before the year's end.
YAY! The "not near a Target" part means that they will be released before year's end in the US too...
