Watched JP 3 the other day and it looks crap. Despite the dnr the contrast seems really low giving a hazy look. The actual film wasn't too bad but the presentation spoiled it.

You mean rebooting the first movie? I hope not, even know it have flaws I'd rather leave this one untouched.

I agree. The first one is a stone cold classic. Don't mess with it. That's the problem with Hollywood. Instead of trying to be unique anymore they just repackage, recycle, reuse, remake, or reboot. It's as though they don't realize there are other letters in the alphabet.

As someone else mentioned earlier in this thread I believe, if HBO or someone would do like a 10 part miniseries straight-up adaptation of the book, that would be something really interesting. But an actual remake of the first film? NO THANKS

Yeah, that was what I was going for with my comment regarding a proper adaptation of the source material. It'd be darker, the characters would be very different, and they could really expand on certain themes and events that occur. It would be a worthwhile miniseries.

I didn't read the novel, did the first movie did such a bad job? I read Dexter's first book but I still like the direction they took in the series better, sometimes different desn't mean bad.

NO. NO. NO. Leave HBO out of this. Why is it that everytime some sci-fi/fantasy movie gets mentioned coming out as a new thing or perhaps a remake people automatically want HBO to do a mini-series/ TV show ala Game of Thrones? As though that would be the only sensible thing to do and the only way to do the material justice. I never drank HBO's Kool-Aid and don't plan to. What is in that Kool-Aid anyway?

Kind of how I view it. It's a helluva deal, but I'll wait for the $15 original movie standalone release presumably later on this year.

For those who couldn't get their hands on the steel book for 50 bucks, this is a no brainer. Even if you had issues with the 1st JP's transfer, you still get a great Lost World transfer and Jurassic World. Also, the set has great artwork. Amazing deal, considering I purchased the 2011 blu-ray many years ago at this price on Black Friday. And this is 4k HDR!

So, is this worth the upgrade for those of us who have the regular 4movie set with JW in 3d? I keep thinking $30 is a better price. Think it’ll get to that? Or is this the lowest it’ll likely go?

Also, what about the way the discs are stored? Are people seeing them damaged like the Mummy fiasco?

Do the digital codes redeem in 4k?

Nope, JW pretty much ignored the two sequels but definely didn't forgot the first one, there's a John Hammond statue, lots of talk about the evolution of the park since 1993, some old JP Jeeps and an employe even wear a JP shirt.

And JW: Fallen Kingdom mentions Isla Sorna a couple of times, so I think all of the films "count," so-to-speak, but like almost any long-lasting series, there are going to be some contradictions here and there.

But yeah, the term "reboot" gets thrown around a lot nowadays to describe things that aren't really that.

I wish I caught the $35 sale price yesterday. I would have jumped all over it.

Same here. I was just going to wait for the first movie to be released by itself, but $35 would be too good to pass up. Too bad I didn't know about the sale.
