So all 4 can be played in 2d. Are the 2D transfers on this Samsung exclusive identical to the previous 2D BD releases?

Best Buy will be the exclusive home for all 4 Shrek movies on 3D Blu-ray beginning October 30. Retail price is $34.99 each, but they will be on sale for $29.99 each AND come with a coupon worth $7.50 off admission to Puss in Boots in theaters.

Wow!

These things can be had on Ebay all the time for much less! I just bought a set on ebay for $75 that had 2 pairs of Samsung 2011 glasses, Shrek 1,2,3,4 and Megamind. All were in the box (sealed)... no mailaway vouchers! The guy selling them had quite a few online.

EDIT: I was surprised to find Shrek 4 and Megamind IN THE BOX already, as it was stated that these were mail-away vouchers!? I'm guessing the sets being sold were the UK versions perhaps? I had heard that other countries actually got them packaged in the box and only the US had to mail away for them.

So again.. I got 2 Pairs of Samsung glasses, Shrek 1-4, and Megamind, all sealed in the box and ready to go. Last time I checked they were still available on ebay (seller Member id: dbjeter) It was $75 plus $10 shipping. I just looked and saw that he has 4 sets available right now, ending in 4 days. Maybe they can be had cheaper elsewhere, but I thought it was a heckuva deal!!

I tried looking on Best buy's website and they did not have them on there yet. I guess they will wait until closer to release date?

wonder if they'll be as barebones as the other releases? the Shrek 3-D short was fun, best use of the 2d->3d conversion feature out there. It would be a natural thing to include here.

Is this best-buy release a commercial sale of the current exclusive deal (same discs/masters) or the official commercial release just giving best-buy first shot?

Thanks for the tip. I was going to buy it on eBay, but I just bought the entire 4-disc 3D set (no vouchers) an hour ago for $28; me happy

sounds like the bb releases will be 4 separate combo packs.

Yeah given how cheap and readily available they become on ebay, I think Best Buy is going to have a bunch of these around if there isn't any new content on the discs.

The samsung version was playable in 2D or 3d. Unless they change it up (which I am hoping they do), these might just be the combo packs like MvA, HTTYD etc and be a 3Dbd and a dvd. Neither with significant special features.
We'll see I guess.

I would hope that at least ONE of the individual Shrek 3D BD combo packs will include the long-lusted after HD version of SHREK THE HALLS. It sucks that to date, Shrek The Halls has never appeared on Blu-Ray. :angry
