I hate to be the millionth guy to say this, but man, I wish the pawn shops around here had even a fraction of the selection that some of you guys are finding. All of the ones in my area are understocked, overpriced and the proprietors act like they realllly don't want you to be there.

Nice. Need to find a Tintin, I bought just the 3D disc and the package from another user and I thought I'd find a regular combo in a store faster than I have.

thanks..It was a relief since, so many pawn shops have the same blu-rays nobody wants. This pawn shop also had Band of Brothers for $14.99, might try and haggle them down to $10..also had Avengers w/slip, Iron Man 3 w/slip, and an Ice Age Continental Drift 3D for $6 a piece..might go ahead and pick them up later

Hey Tyler, you're local. Where on earth are you finding BD's? I'm stuck in between Federal Way and Tacoma and can't find crap.

Pawn Pros in Kent, Renton, and Federal Way, and the three Cash Americas in Auburn (the one down by Aaron's and the one by the casino are better than the one in the middle, which used to be a Super Pawn) / the one in Federal Way.

Since I live in that area, I go often. Frequency is really the secret. 7 out of 8 times, I don't find anything remarkable.

This..there are probably 20 or so pawn shops in my area within a 25 mile radius. You're going to see a lot of the same old movies nobody wants, it's better to just go when running errands, because the odds are really slim that you're going to find anything decent. Check craigslist as well, a lot of pawn shops will post there when trying to get rid of inventory

Just one today, Now You See Me for $5. In a rare display of efficiency, I came straight home and watched it immediately. Enjoyed it; it was exactly as dumb as I expected it to be.

So, the normal rate is 5 for $20. I didn't actually want Pacific Rim, so I asked one guy at the counter how much they were. He said $4 for new titles, $2 for older. I figured, what the hell, I can sell Pacific Rim to a friend for $10 and make half my money back. Went to the counter, and a different guy was open. I told him I had five Blu-Rays, and without looking at them, he rang me for the "older" price, or $10 for all five. I wasn't gonna argue with him. Now the $10 copy of Pacific Rim covers all but $0.85 of the purchase. Even if I hate all four of these movies, I come out on top. And to think, the last few times I've been in this place, they haven't had anything...
Haha that's an amazing haul for that price, but I can't believe you charged a "friend" $10 for Pacific Rim considering you paid $10 for the whole lot

Someone bashed in my car window and ripped my stereo out a few years ago (I was living in a relatively nice area too, but there was a string of break-ins for a few weeks and I got unlucky) and it's so irritating considering they probably got $20-40 it. It cost me more than that to replace the window, not even considering the stereo. I would have paid the guy $50 to just walk away! In short - I agree. Drugs probably have a good grip on these folks.

To be fair, it looked brand new! Like the plastic wrap had just been removed. He would've paid full price otherwise...

I had a whole bunch of blu's stolen from me for drug money by a now ex-family member a couple of years ago. Luckily, we got them back before they were sold by the Pawn shop - we didn't get so lucky with my wife's engagement ring though.

being robbed sucks, but it's worse when it's a family member. so sorry about her engagement ring

Now I feel a little bad. To clarify, I was mostly referring to that one day -- In addition to Machete Kills (plus the other copy I didn't buy), Don Jon, The Family, and Pacific Rim, I also saw The Lone Ranger (2013), Carrie (2013), x2 The Hangover Part III, The Butler, several copies of Insidious 2, Grown Ups 2, 2x Scary Movie 5, etc., which, I can't know for sure, but I doubt came from a personal collection. That's the only time it's ever happened that way too. (Clearly this store, in this specific instance, had decided to ignore the 30-day wait policy, considering many of those came out 24 hours before.)

If it makes you feel better, I did ask him if he felt $10 was a fair price and he said yes.
