AHS is an FX show not a Fox show. DVDs still sell more than BDs. Just casue a show is only on DVD wont stop me from getting it. Would I have liked a BD? Sure but I'm not gonna deny myself the DVD of a show I really like cause there isn't one. Ill take a DVD copy over digital any day.

Same here. Blu-ray is preferable, but if dvd is the only option, I'll take it over digital every time. I had to buy the dvd version of Salem for seasons 1 and 2 for instance.

um Fox releases AHS on bluray, they have actually released every single AHS season on bluray even the newly announced season I guess when you're Fox and you own Fx network you can do things like that . and are DVDs really doing as well as people are claiming? DVDs have been declining every single week while Blurays increases, Check out this thread if you don't believe me

Why when dvd is 480p and digital is 1080p?

I'd MUCH rather have it in HD everytime, there is no comparison.

Blu-ray > Digital HD > DVD

The issue with digital releases though is internet connectivity and usually the price is rather high (even more expensive than a physical product, but it varies). DVD format is still more universal than blu-ray since the latter does not have portable players commonly found in stores (have to buy them online) or built into something. However, I think most people are pro-blu-ray (us young folks anyway), so at the very least, a combo pack option would be better than DVD only. I mean, it would require studios to make the blu-ray discs, but if they want to save money by releasing one product, shouldn't it be a combo pack so everyone is happy? They would still be saving money since there would not be a need for separate blu-ray/DVD releases (people can always sell / give away whichever they don't want).

I have a crap Internet service that isn't high speed enough to support high def video playback. With all things equal, I'd rather own the physical dvd.

Why are these companies getting so damn cheap and not releasing shows on Blu-Ray anymore? Damn DVD is over 20 years old now. Companies need to quit being cheap and lazy and finally start fully embracing Blu-Ray. It's about time...

Maybe.

Glee had its last 2 seasons released on blu-ray in Japan.

People in the US expected SQ to get canceled after just one season, but if Japan embraces it, then I guess a blu-ray release is possible.

I buy iTunes and then reconvert them and rip them to bluray as a data disc

I'm sure DVDs still sell well. Ill give an example. My local Target shrunk their media section, they also now carry more DVDs than BDs. Even with a new release once they sell out of the BDs they have, they won't order more but they'll keep restocking the DVD. I asked a friend who works there why & he said its because at least in that store DVDs sell more then BDs. It's especially bad for TV shows, if you don't get those in that store on the first week you'll never see the BD there again, only the DVD.

Also the nearest Wal-Mart to me also has more DVDs in stock now over BDs. The DVDs are in a nice shelf while the BDs are in a huge round bin you have to dig through unless it's the weeks new releases.

I'd much prefer BD as well but if my only options are DVD or digital I'll choose the DVD every time. I'm not a fan of digital for movies (or games) only for music.

I would choose digital HD though vs DVD if the prices weren't so expensive.

Did the DVD get pushed back? Amazon still has no date. BestBuy.com says December. It's weird you think they would want people to get into the show before season 2.

Season 2 premieres next week and the promo has been lacking tbh. The new season setting looks so low budget too.

I heard it go pushed back to October although no official confirmation. Promo is expected to pick up heavily with the premiere of AHS this week as well as the cast making the rounds on talk shows.
