Wow at Her and Eternal Sunshine!

I'm looking for district 9; i believe the futureshop version is the only one with inside art?

Also will my US PS4 not be able to play region B discs?

PS4 is a region locked blu-ray player. So, it will only play region A discs. Do some research though. Almost all discs released in Europe only say Region B even if they aren't region locked. The retailers just don't care to bother clarifying since their intended consumer base is all in region B anyways.

You can also check the region coding information on this site. It's only as good as the users who input the info (but the same can be said for Zavvi and ebay users...and frankly I trust our users more).

E.g., for the Zavvi Wall-E steelbook, you can find region coding info at this link: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/WALL-.../#RegionCoding

It says...
Quote:
Region A (no playback), Region B (confirmed), Region C (untested)
It makes sense this disc would be region B locked because the standard amaray edition is also region B locked: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/WALL-.../#RegionCoding

United Kingdom Amazon Steelbooks

Hey guys does anyone else have a issue ordering steelbooks from Amazon. I find that the majority of them alway comes damaged with scratches or dents.

I kind of have the feeling I should stop purchasing from Amazon for steelbooks.

What is everyone else's experience like with Amazon Steelbooks?

I stopped purchasing from Amazon in the US for that reason alone. Until they can adequately package them, it just isn't worth the aggravation anymore. I realize they have great customer service but if the replacement order gets damaged too, what's the point, right? I do have better luck with their international sites, with Amazon.de being the best. Although, I did recently have to have something replaced from Amazon UK but as of now, I'll continue with the international sites unless they become problematic as well.

Well I have ordered from Amazon Canada and never had a mint steelbook even replacements came damaged. UK is mixed some bad some good. Not had any problems with Germany Amazon so far.

Don't think I be ordering much from them in the future unless I have no other choice.

This has been my experience also. Amazon US have not caught onto steelbooks yet so their packaging is the worst...followed closely by Amazon.ca although luckily the 20 or so steels from Canada have arrived mint for me **knocks on wood**

The EU amazon sites are a lot better with the UK being the best followed by Germany and France with Italy and Spain being about as reliable as Canada.

I'm looking for plastic slip cases for my steelbooks, something similar to what Mondo uses for their steels. Can anyone point me in the direction where I could buy them? Thanks

Easiest and cheapest to get in the US is from Video Gamebox Protectors or Retro Protection. They offer complete enclosure and work best for opened steelbooks or sealed steelbooks with very small j-cards

I'm always perplexed when I read posts like yours.... no, I've never had an issue with my blu rays being damaged from Amazon, steelbooks or regular... nothing major anyway....

I've always felt that's more of an issue with the delivery service or mail hub than the seller.....

I agree with this. I have them delivered to my office so they are hand-delivered and there is always someone to receive them.

The U.K., first print German and Japanese all have inside artwork also. The Canadian, UK and German are the best since they have a tan color to the steelbook whereas the Japanese one is more silverish.

The Japanese one can be found on eBay pretty regularly for $30 and the CA, UK, and DE ones are normally about $50-100 b.i.n. but when one goes up for bid it normally doesn't sell for more than $35...just got to keep an eye out.

Beware though as there are also second print German ones out there that people try to sell at the price of first print ones so make sure the one you get has a j card on it...the ones without a j card (if still sealed) are the crappy ones.

I've got three current pre-orders doing the same thing. John Wick, Birdman, and Looper. I'm feeling the same as you, once this stuff ships (if it does) I am done with them.

Film arena doesn't have all the components, i think the lenticular has been delayed so the release was delayed
