People were raving about it on here at the time of release. It just seems odd to talk as if a film was bad when it was rated 71% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tide has turned. It seems most hate it now for some reason. As I said it has issues, but it is a fun movie IMO and crushes part 3.

I still like Lost World more. I didn't read the book so I have no attachment to it. I know it strays far from the source material, but since I don't know it I don't care. The RV going off the cliff and the glass cracking is one of the most thrilling part of any of the movies. The gymnastics could have been left out though.

JW was an entertaining blockbuster but it isn't on par with the first one, it's not in the same league. JP redefined FX and had a pretty innovative story to tell, while JW was well made an entertaining but nothing more.

I completely disagree. Jurassic World was exactly how to do a sequel and had the thrill factor for me of the first Jurassic Park.

That was surely the point though because Jurassic World was more a commentary on commercialism whereas Jurassic Park was focused more on the messing with nature angle.

The story of JP is far more superior than the one from JW. The cast of JP is superior than the cast used in JW. Given the fact that JP is from 1993 and JW 2015, JP is winning the crown for FX as well. The raptor scene with the kids in JP is still stressing me out and I watched this movie at least 20 times, nothing in JW comes even close to that. |

As for the story, I actually prefer Jurassic World's. I love the idea of the park being fully operational and that people in the Jurassic Park universe have got so bored of the traditional dinosaur that they are having to create a whole new one to entice people back. That's something that would happen in real life; it's a smart commentary on commercialism and how far businesses will go to get the money they crave. Jurassic Park, whilst having a great story is more 'basic' in that it was more about introducing audiences to the world of Jurassic Park for the first time given that there hadn't been any other films before it. And yeah, the cast in Jurassic Park is great but Jurassic World has Chris Pratt! Not even Jeff Goldblum (as much as I think he's a great actor) can compete with him. |

Well, I finally saw the first one. It was rather mediocre, IMO.
On the plus side, both Bryce Dallas Howard and Christ Pratt were excellent. They had great chemistry. Also, there was a good deal of humor that was effective. On the negative side, however, it was fairly boring and rather poorly paced I thought. And there was just too much that was ridiculously silly. I mean, dinosaurs "talking" to each other, the whole humans communicating with dinosaurs, etc. That stuff was just ridiculous. So, I'd probably give it about a C+, when all is said and done. |
