How about Ferrara’s China Girl, and Reckless(1984)?

RECKLESS, which I adore, is with WB, so that's tough, if not impossible.

CHINA GIRL is with Lionsgate, so equally tough.

Thanks for the TV movie list...you can expect some from us in the future.
I honestly didn't think any of my ideas had a chance in hell, so you kinda just made me scream in happiness! You rock!

Ha! Well, you can expect some TV movies from us in the future, not necessarily the exact ones on your list. At least we can consider them, though.

How about Michael Tolkin's The Rapture and The New Age? Two of the best films of the 1990s!

I prefer to pass on the mod dvd of Reckless, and I don’t know what’s going on with China Girl, it was never even issued on dvd in the states to my knowledge.

"The Rapture"! YES! Yes. That would be ****in dreamy. If there's a film that shouldn't be googled and spoiled it's that one. A masterpiece.

That's good enough for me. I've seen LOTS of TV movies.

Both are with New Line/Warners. Criterion was rumored to have The Rapture at some point.

The Terrence Malick-scripted Deadhead Miles starring Alan Arkin would be tremendous. Still Paramount. Same with Robert Downey’s Pound (which I’ve heard just can’t be released for unknown reasons)

Downey's Pound should be with MGM, not Paramount. I don't know what issues could be holding that one back

There is one TV movie I want on disc so bad, jah!

Love these types of films set over one night. Really enjoyable flick if you could ever work your magic mate.

I saw someone did mention this in a big post a ways back, but I wanted to put in another word for Working Girls (1986) by Lizzie Borden. A great “day in the life” movie with nuanced dynamics between co-workers, employer and clients at a brothel, and a pretty good NYC movie despite sticking mostly to the one location. Don’t think it’s ever been released on blu ray, and AFAIK dvd’s are out of print.

I thought of another. Carl Reiner is a maverick, right? ALL OF ME has only had a budget release DVD in Pan & Scan. It's an underrated comedy, one I'm surprised isn't better-remembered these days.

Michael Pressman had some good feature credits before moving almost exclusively into telefilms and episodic tv. Thanks for the tip.

I was always curious about A Flash of Green (1984) by Victor Nunez, with Ed Harris. Cool Florida neo-noir newspaper flick. I think it was an American Playhouse production, so maybe with Kino? could be a good fit for FCE if available.

There are plenty of excellent/involving/quirky made-for-tv films out there, ripe for (re)discovery.

Considering the taste you've shown so far in your acquisitions, I'm quietly exited to see what you'll be putting out in that genre.

So many amazing American Playhouse productions. I'd love to have the series Trying Times as well.
