Lucky man! We didn't have any 3D screenings here in the cinema (unlike GotG3), so I've really been anticipating this release.

Another 3D MCU, wow. For some reason I had a feeling this was going to be the one to break the streak. Happy to have this one, it wasn't great but it was solid. Kamala Khan was the highlight to me.

Preordered with YesAsia, only because I don't enjoy giving money to Amazon. I'm sure it will end up being a similar price, even if Amazon ends up being slightly cheaper as per usual.

In the US there were both 3D IMAX, 3D 4DX showings, as well as regular 3D showings.

I don't understand the hate that some have for Amazon. What have they done to you to make you feel this way? Do you feel the same way about Walmart?

I would be very surprised if there weren't at least a few folks ticked off by one or more of these huge conglomerates. They almost always prioritize profit over customer satisfaction.

I'll get it because it's 3D but like Ant-Man, I'll wait for it to get a little bit cheaper

A few years ago I maintained an extensive wish list of movies that I would use to "pad" purchases in order to meet the free shipping threshold. One day I went to add a movie and a message popped up, "Reserved for Amazon Prime members". There was no rhyme or reason to what was reserved- it could be a new release, old release, dvd, blu-ray- even other items- there was a blog about this with others complaining about it- some had a particular brand of diapers that they had a subscription for that they could no longer buy.

The restriction went away a while ago- but Amazon could bring it back anytime they want. I still make purchases on Amazon, but, if I can help it, I'll buy elsewhere.

I've been an Amazon Prime member for a long time. I love it. Never been disappointed with them.

Here's what you said in that movie's thread:

I pulled up the invoice for my Amazon order for that film. The grand total for my order - including tracked shipping that was so fast I was watching the movie on release weekend - was $72.40.

Each movie is a little different of course but I've seen this to be a fairly consistent pattern where the YesAsia orders don't typically save people a lot, if any money.
Hi Random, I know the pre-order price usually drops, but fortunately I didn't get burned with Ant Man (though neither did I save all that much). Currently the cost at Amazon Japan with shipping is $71.65 (close to the final pre-order price last July). Add $6.26 sales tax and it becomes $77.91. Of course that only meant 49 cents going back to the piggy bank (do recall that being my approximate "savings" as well).

Don't know how much your rate is but my nys/nyc sales tax is .0875%, so for me that's the deal breaker. Might not mean a tremendous saving compared to Amazon Japan but with no sales tax it's usually more than just 49 cents.

For example, A.J currently sells Guardians of the Galaxy with shipping for $71.70 (which I believe is close to the pre-order price). With $6.21 tax that totals $77.91. Since I paid $73.14 at YesAsia my approximate savings was $4.77. For me, knowing I saved an extra few dollars is worth the extra delivery wait.

i wonder if deadpool 3 will be the one to do it since it's close to an entire year apart in the release schedule.

Not even confirmed that this will be converted to 3D. Or is this already mentioned on some 3D convertion artist/company site? Somebody has a link?

+only Marvel cinema movie title 2024
+enough time for a conversion
+could be a Apple Vision 3D title
-no Deadpool entry was 3D
-history of r-rating and 3D

Only marvel studio (Disney) in 2024, there are 2 more from Sony/Marvel: Madame Web and kraven the Hunter, this year too.

There is no information available if Deadpool 3 will be in 3D or not. We will probably find out in the next 2 months.

Venom 3 is also scheduled to open this year, which makes 3 Sony non-MCU Marvel films.

Nature hates a vacuum and with only one MCU movie Sony are determined to fill it.

Yeah, no, the Sony movies were already on the schedule before the MCU movies got postponed.

It’s doesn’t matter what the schedule was before, the fact is, MCU have one movie coming out and Sony have three. Marvel has scaled back content because of fear of over saturation but Sony are pressing on regardless. I won’t be surprised if all three of their movies bomb.

No, it has nothing to do with "over saturation". The movies had to be pushed back because of the strikes.

I don't think Deadpool 3 will be in 3D. The other ones weren't and I have never seen it advertised as 3D. You will have to wait for 2025 for a Disney Marvel movie in 3D.

Good to see The Marvels 3D blu ray available. Medium to strong 3D and one of the better 3D conversions. Though not as consistently strong as Captain Marvel, but really good and stronger 3D than some recent Marvel 3D conversions.

Best way to look at the expensive price is to pretend they're 69.99 PS5 games in my view. 3 new release PS5 big budget games are like $210+ tax these days. That's an investment if not waiting for a price cut.
