It was a blast when I saw it in a packed theater.
People were literally screaming in fear
I enjoyed It, I just don't get the hype.
They nailed the kids and their friendship and the comedy for the most part. I just think the horror side was a little lacking.

Yeah, it's one of the best of that type of horror film. The two main girls are great in it. Fantastic young actresses.

Finally saw IT yesterday and damn, IT

was really good. One of my favorite Stephen King adaptations currently and I still enjoy the 1990 TV mini-series. Going to rewatch said mini-series and reread the book. It's been a very long time since I've last read IT. Didn't really scare me but was pretty damn creepy and had a great "atmosfear." The music score and soundtrack was perfect.
Wonder what the 15-20 or whatever minutes they'll be re-adding for the alternate cut on the Blu-ray disc? Hope IT has seamless branching. Would love to own in my collection along with the upcoming Chapter Two.

I finally saw the film yesterday and loved it enough to give it a 4 in the poll. The kids were great. Wasn't really scary but pretty creepy. Can't wait for part two. It has been 27 years since I read the book (my first Stephen King book) so I started it again last night.

I enjoyed this, but was a little disappointed overall. Foremost problem was that it simply wasn't scary enough. As a fun-house ride of set pieces, it was enjoyable, but even with the amount of screen time that it had, I still thought that some of the kids felt thinly sketched. You're never going to able to match the ambling epic of the novel. Skarrsgard was good, but I kind of wish they'd just let him do his thing and used less FX. I'm curious to see how of a piece the whole thing will be when it's all done though.

I'm surprised to hear Jessica Chastain suggested so much for Beverly in Chapter 2. Chapter 1 Beverly looks WAY more like Amy Adams, like to the point where if I didn't know when this was made I could believe it WAS young Amy Adams in this movie.

I first I thought, I don't really see Amy Adams in Beverly like a lot of people say. But then later on in the film, Beverly started to act like Amy Adams. Then I was like, holy crap! Beverly IS a lot like Amy Adams.

As per the novel, Bev and Audra should bear an uncanny resemblance to one another. So I'm going with Jessica Chastain (who already has an "in" with this particular director thanks to Mama) and her doppelganger Bryce Dallas Howard.
