blurays are going to be a huge indication if people are interested or not but it is not a guarentee that they will do DS9 if TNG does well. I have basic cable now with about 60 US and Canadian channels and neither DS9 nor Enterprise are showing on any of them. For Enterprise, blurays are very low risk due to how the show was made so they can put them out even if they think they are just going to break even on the bluray sales. with DS9, there is huge cost involved so the risk goes up and since it isn't on tv right now, they may not want to put them out even if TNG does well on bluray. this is Hollywood - supply and demand isn't always enough.

You must be talking about Season 3's "The Vengeance Factor," the scene in which
[Show spoiler]Riker must stop Yuta from killing Chorgan. It's debatable whether or not he needed to vaporize her, sure, but Picard never congratulated him afterwards. In Riker's defense, he did stun her a couple of times but it didn't seem to deter her.

It's nice to finally hear that so plainly spoken after all these years.
In 2009 Rick Berman took part in a three-hour interview about his tenure in Trek. In the interview he talks specifically about Gates McFadden and the reason for her departure. She was fired because head writer Maurice Hurley "had a real bone to pick" with Gates and didn’t like her acting, Berman brought Gates back for 3rd season after Hurley left.

You can watch the full interview at Trekmovie.com.

I guess that's slightly better than he wanted her to pick his boner.

The color is a yellow green. It was shown in the season three trailer during the screening event on Thursday.

So what do you guys think the chances are Amazon will price match Best Buy's $64.99 sale price before they begin shipping their Prime customers' pre-orders?

I have the $5 black friday week facebook coupon applied to my pre-order, but I don't want to get stuck with paying $74.99 if Amazon doesn't lower the price until after the release date.

Doesn't matter if the price is lowered before they start shipping as long as Amazon price matches before the end of Tues you'll receive a refund if your order has already shipped. There's pretty good odds Amazon will price match once BBY ad officially comes out on Sun.

The $64.99 price is in their print ad for next week. It's in the Best Buy Ad thread in this forum.

I guess I shouldn't be grumbling about paying $64.99 for these seasons considering I shelled out over a $100 each when they first came out.

I imagine in person, it will look more like gold. In any case, the color isn't the selling point for me. I'm sure it won't stick out like a sore thumb

The color scheme looks like its going to follow the R1 DVD sets: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

I never thought about it, but I think your right. Nor did I notice that it covers the entire color spectrum.

Even if they don't on Sunday, there's no doubt they will by Tuesday.

I didn't have this ordered until this week because I was waiting to see what Best Buy was charging for it, but now that I know I was confident in placing my order and getting the $64.99 price.

Now it's at 69.99 on amazon. I cancelled my amazon pre-order. Getting really sick and tired of amazon dragging their feet on lowering the price to match Best Buy. Since amazon charges sales tax in my state now, I'm better off just picking it up at Best Buy on Tuesday so I can be sure to get it for the lowest price. Fortunately, Best Buy is on my way home from work.
