PQ is top-notch. Like their transfer of The Shout, it's from a very recent scan: close-ups and detail are amazing, greys are beautiful. Sometimes it may look a bit too smooth, but a very fine grain is definitely there - probably just a wrong impression. Damage is virtually non-existent. Audio is lossy (DD 2.0 at 224kbps), but very clear nonetheless.

I'm interested in picking up a few Network BD releases I'm missing, and would greatly appreciate if someone who owns them, or is aware of their quality, could let me know how they are.
I'm especially interested in knowing how they compare to other existing BD releases (their Hammer titles were already released in the US by Synapse), and if Capricorn One is a safe purchase (I seem to recall that there was some sort of production flaw with this release). The titles are: -Capricorn One -Countess Dracula -Hands of the Ripper -Twins of Evil -The Medusa Touch -Ransom -The Shout thanks |

Hands of the Ripper looks good. It's a close one between that and the US version and the Network is well worth it.
As much as I'd love to say Network for Twins of Evil, if the PQ/AQ is similar, there is a massive doc on the US disc which is almost worth it alone. |

Don't suppose anyone knows why the episodes included in the Supermarionation release are presented in 1080i/50 instead of 1080p/24? as it seems like an odd choice for Network to mess with the original frame rate when in the past they have been so faithful.

Also one of the cases i received was quite badly damaged, so i sent them an email to let them know. I got an email back today to say they're sending me out a replacement case. Can't say any fairer than that, well done Network. ![]() Last edited by Spiderwalk; 10-29-2014 at 11:37 AM. |
