Is it hidefdiscnews where the reviewer uses the bit rates as a primary indictor to judge picture quality?

One strange thing is Encanto looks to have an AVBR of 65 Mbps AVBR whilst live action movies are under 40 Mbps from the same company which IMO is odd

It's not odd when you check the running times. Most Disnee animated shows are well under two hours which means you can crank the bitrate. But anything on two and a half hours or more is going to be near/under the 40 Mb/s mark on a UHD66 when combined with several audio tracks.

Which would be great if you knew what you're talking about. But you don't, e.g. low bitrates don't cause "choppy frame rates". Do you actually own any 4K discs at all or do you just tally all the back covers?

Yeah I do get that. With most of their stuffs shot digitally higher bit rates aren't needed. However, Disney is still one weird and stubborn company though.

There’s 2x versions of Shang-Chi on the disc you bought? That’s weird.

No, they're saying the D+ streaming counterpart has 2 versions (regular theatrical and iMax enhanced).

Either Amazon didn’t get enough copies or Disney understocked cause right now it’s showing currently unavailable and my pre-order got delayed to Thursday from tomorrow.

Disney doesn't provide Amazon any copies. If they have any on day one, it's because they sourced them from somewhere else.

I felt this was one of the better releases from Marvel in 2021. It was way larger in scope than a lot of MCU stories, yet had more conflicted characters bouncing off each other in an intimate way. Beautiful, miserable superbeings breaking up during the fall of Tenochtitlan scratched an itch I didn’t know I had. Seems like this is among the few “polarizing” Marvel Studios releases but I hope we see these characters again.

I rewatched the first 30 minutes on D+ (DV Dark).

Anyone thinking it's too dark is plain wrong. The APL is generally on the lower end and the blacks look grey on some scenes which affects contrast. There are few eye candy moments but all on the reserved side. If you have a so so display then you won't like it.

It varies from display to display. Looks great(if shot darkly) in DV on my Sony x900 tv, on my X7 projector, the HDR is a botch job.

It's a CGI-Movie with BAD LIGHTING amigo it's going to look bad just stop with your brainwashed speech talk AVATAR guy.

Is he laying on a table lifting his arms up like a god it looks bad, and then some glitter trails tickle him?

Movies with better lighting from the 60's or 70's or 80's LMAO.

Yeah not to get all soapboxy, but film quality has been steadily declining since the advent of Technicolor film. Nothing has ever looked better. However Technicolor was always incredibly expensive to manufacture, thus studios and directors have sought ever cheaper alternatives since. It was also a pain to light with and took real experience and know how(and crazy bright lights that melts make up off faces in 3 minutes). Digital was just the natural progression of cheapness.

Yeah, the minute the last technicolor lab closed, all movies should’ve stopped.

No trailers on the disc, although maybe it'll be on the Spider-Man disc since it played at the end in theaters.

Check out The Love Witch 2016, shot with newly made Technicolor film stock yet you’d swear it’s from 1960.. yeah, they should not do that just because it’s hard.. trying to match your rapier whit.
