I'm actually very stoked for Screams Of A Winter Night. Looking forward to this dropping.

He is seriously taking advice from Ruined. This is absolutely hysterical. Screams of a Winter Night was a film I have been excited to watch for years. You know what, there are plenty of other movies I'd rather spend my money on and labels that I'd like to support. So I won't be supporting this model. Good luck DF I wish you the best, I'll be over here watching this trash fire grow.

Dave, wondering if Dark Force ever looked into TO DIE FOR (1989)? I requested it a while back and you said you'd look into it.

Would really love to see that one get a respectable release (along with the sequel, though I believe part 2 is with Lionsgate).

Holy shit I can't believe DF just announced they are going to keep raising the prices in increments to force you to buy early, and penalize you if you don't. Someone needs to take a business class.

Get your bathroom ready. You're gonna have a lot of product sitting around.

I can't believe I now want 88 films to take their stuff.

As someone who doesn’t own any DF titles (I’ve bought CR from the DF site) how do you know when the store will be up?
Ahow can you make an announcement like that and still have the site down?

Don't be coy! You can let us know when the store is open when your buddy David DeFalco gives you the word.

Ruined doesn't need to know when the store goes up. His copy is already in the mail.

I think that 88 films are doing a great job of late, sure some of their output has been a little troublesome but honestly, their Shaw Brothers line is fantastic and they are delivering some great genre cinema at great price points. Think that bar a couple of their titles the most I have paid is £8 and that's getting them on release or shortly after.

The latest business masterclass from df is truly dumb ridiculous, it's the kind of consumer unfriendly tactics I expect from such an underhanded company. Maybe I am misinformed but as I understand it putting two cuts of a film onto one disc is not more expensive than just one cut. From the wording that seems to be the justification for this nonsense and it's funny how professional labels can put 2 films on one disc with no difficulties and no price gouging.

Can't wait for the next marketing campaign, buy the film on first day before we pull stock, print more and drive up the price by listing this oop special edition Code Red and df exclusive for $50 and claim it's a bargain as we are selling it for $100 on the df ebay.

Regarding Screams of a Winter Night, here's what I predicted in January:

So far, the first two parts have come true. I'm just waiting for the last two parts to happen. However, I don't think anyone could have predicted that DF would start taking business advice from Ruined, of all people. This is truly rock bottom for the Code Red/Dark Force relationship.

I never had a problem with 88 films. I just always wanted to support Code Red. The tide has turned.

Not only that, but every time the price goes up, it's ruined's fault. That is how he thanks his shill. Put a target on his back as the sole reason for a price increase!

Also, why do people keep bringing up 88 Films? Is the expectation that they will release Screams on a Winter's Night and/or Forced Entry? Just curious.

I have to say I'm at the point with Code Red/Dark Force that if they ever do release anything I am interested in, I will just buy it through 88 Films or Diabolik, if available, and eBay if it isn't. I don't even care if it cost me more. That's how badly I don't want to support them any longer.

The last time they hyped the store reopening was “MLK holiday weekend” which IIRC ended up being late Monday night/early Tuesday morning. So who the hell knows.

I'm not sure how anyone can be OK patronizing them anymore. 88 Films or no sale!
