No it does not link to an actual announcement from KINO but I find Blu-ray.com to be very reliable when it comes to their news announcements and wouldn't consider them rumors.

All of the those titles posted in that April 25th blu-ray.com update have been released with the exception of Get Crazy and Time Limit.

Anyways if you don't have the movie that's fine.

Time Limit was announced by us on Facebook, Twitter, Blu-ray.com and other forums. Get Crazy has NEVER been announced/confirmed by anyone from KL.

Blu-ray.com made a mistake then, no big deal.

KL Insider,

I was wondering how many 1930s westerns you have from the 2nd Universal deal, and if any of them are previously unreleased/not on DVD.

Thanks.

The KL Insider said that Get Crazy wasn't coming.

I think this might be the culprit post that made it seem that Kino was releasing it:

If this is true, I'll happily buy a copy for myself and some for others that I know love this film!

That is one hell of a clue. I can narrow done the 1930's Gary Cooper films quite nicely from that but as those have seen my top three were not westerns.

Cult comedies do very well on Blu-ray, Scavenger Hunt, Porky's sequels, Up the Creek, Moving Violations, just to name a few - have all sold great.

And this whole argument doesn't make any sense, when we announced Caravans on Saturday, someone posted: This is getting released and Sergeant York is still not out? What does one have to do with the other? So we cannot release anything less than Sergeant York, until Warner Brothers decides to release the film?
That was not me. Warner Brothers deserves the full blame for not releasing Sergeant York, So please send all of your *****es to them as they have turned into a kind of crappy classic movies company (must be new younger people in charge). Not totally crappy but they could do better.

More eclectic than crappy, in my opinion.

"Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine" is one of my favorite guilty pleasures so I'm not throwing any stones.

DC Cab, which I've never heard of before, strikes me as schlock, and I'm using that term in the most affectionate way possible. Since I like "Smokey and the Bandit" and the Cannonball Run films, would this be a good blind buy? It sounds entertaining. How could it not be with a cast of people like Mr. T, Marsha Warfield, Wojo from Barney Miller, and Grady from Sanford and Son?

Man, Amazon is sucking with KL titles these days.

I'm getting shipping estimates all over the place. None of the Spike Lee's have shipped yet. I've got a bunch of KL's on pre-order and all the delivery estimates are days or weeks after the release date.

Amazon used to have this issue with Arrow titles. I started ordering all Arrows from DiabolikDVD. Arrow told me the issue was Amazon not stocking enough to cover all their orders in the first place, and thus having to wait for restock before fulfilling orders.

Prime ain't what it used to be...

Hey, KL Insider, I've ordered direct from KL during sales and stuff before. If I pre-order New Releases, will I receive them by release date, generally?

The same old guy has been in charge for decades. They're just releasing stuff they know will sell, again, this industry is not what it used to be. Sergeant York may be held up due to film elements issues. I'm pretty sure WB would've already released it otherwise.

Assuming the highlighted item above is correct, what a pleasant surprise! Previously the Insider said this release would only feature 2.0 stereo.

Thanks for answering my question! Out of curiosity, of the 21 confirmed 1930s movies in your 2nd Universal deal, how many of them are previously unreleased/not on DVD, if any?

Thanks again!

Regarding 60s westerns - Kino said they had 3 which had previously been released on DVD (in the US presumably). Providing none of them are titles previously released on Blu-ray by Universal, from what I can tell, it should be three of these five:

The Last Sunset
Shenandoah
The Ballad of Josie
Gunfight in Abilene
Rough Night in Jericho

I discounted Texas Across the River since the Insider very recently stated 'We currently don't have any Alain Delon titles under license.' If I had to guess, I'd go for The Last Sunset, Shenandoah and Rough Night in Jericho. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they had The Ballad of Josie, so one of those may miss out.

The Insider also said they have 2 60s westerns without a prior DVD release in the US. It's possible one of these is the TV western, but in any case, here are the theatrical possibilities (with Death of a Gunfighter removed):

Hell Bent for Leather
Seven Ways from Sundown
Posse from Hell
Six Black Horses
Stagecoach to Dancers' Rock
Showdown
The Raiders
He Rides Tall
Bullet for a Badman
Taggart
Gunpoint
Incident at Phantom Hill
The Plainsman
The Ride to Hangman's Tree
A Man Called Gannon
Journey to Shiloh

Quite a few of these are Audie Murphy films, and of course we know they have three. Showdown and Posse from Hell have Blu-ray releases in Germany, so they seem the most realistic possibilities. That said, I'm hoping for Journey to Shiloh myself.

All 21 have been previously released on DVD. Some, like The Kiss Before the Mirror was recently released on the Universal Vault Series MODs.
