Is the disk region free?

So I got mine in the mail today and popped it right in. Unfortunately, the new agey soundtrack matched the beat of my heart and put me to sleep! I tried to stick with it, and it did get a lot more interesting as soon as man showed up. But I gave after that to take a nap. I've got work to do right now, but I'm hoping I'm past the "sleepy" boring part.

Actually, I just remembered before I took my nap I popped in Baraka and enjoyed an entirely different experience. The music was mysterious rather than soothing and the appearance of creatures and the buildings putting scale into the imagery hooked me in much easier. But the deed was done: I turned it off and slept.

Hehe..my wife did the same thing, felt tired....but what she didn't know is how things progress after the first half. She was expecting something along the lines of "Planet Earth" but what she didn't know was that the documentary was setting things up of the Earth's history and building up to the serious second half of the film. I kept with it and enjoyed it but she grew tired waiting to see more animals...hehe...

Bestbuy Canada has it for $27.99...damned rip-off (again). Would love to get this, but not at that pricepoint.....

Just finished watching it and found it absolutely spectacular.

I found it better than Planet Earth as at least there's a message behind it. I felt Planet Earth (which is still excellent) was more or less just beautiful images pasted together.

Yup. I think PE got all the attention because it was the first "real" blu-ray to showcase just how good HD is.

I'm amazed that nobody is talking about this release at all considering the enormous amount of publicity it got.

It's a must buy.

I cant, yet at least, I know there is a french version of this, as well as a german one

I have a region B player, If it plays I know its region B free, if not it will say locked or mismatch of regions

Thanks guys for trying to find out whether it's region free or not, I want the American disk because it's the full 200mins uncut version, where as the French and German version are the 88min cut and I'm not even sure they have the Glenn Close Voice over on them.

Hmmm....my (American) copy says it's 118 minutes.
