haha...yeah its a shame the character has faded into complete obscurity like this. The original run of the comic STILL holds up to this day, hilarious as all hell, just like they were when I was a young boy.

I always told myself if I were to ever own a dog at some point in my life, I'm naming him Rufferto.

this is my 2nd fav. spike lee joint. cant wait to get it! "They killed Radio Raheem!!!" Cant wait for some os Spikes other films to be released on BD...Malcolm X, schooldaze & bamboozled!

Good review too....but the reviewer made a mistake...Obama is not AA...his mother is a white american and his father is an African (cant recall the country off the top). So he's technically an American and African.

The Diary of Anne Frank, The Seventh Seal, Dr. Strangelove, Last Year at Marie bad, Do The Right Thing. All on Blu ray within a three week span. Now THAT is what I call an excellent line up for film aficionados.

Sorry, your absolutely right Gremal, I totally forgot to put in the spoilers ahead warning. I'm allways thinking there's no way someone has not seen a movie like Do the Right Thing, i allready went through all the the Home-Video transformations and finnaly arrived at BLU-RAY!!!! Clockers is great, but would also like to see S.O.S on Blu-ray, the DVD is outdated.

Can't say I'm a big fan of this movie. I'm glad it got a great review and is well done, it gives me hope for future Spike Lee Blu Rays, but this is one I'll be skipping.

Bamboozled...25th Hour...Inside Man...and Do it A'capella

Those are ones I'll eventually get...this one though, it's just too rough to watch.

Believe it or not this is in my top 5 for favorite movies all time. I love Spike Lee joints, and this is by far his best flick in my opinion. Day one purchase for me. You don't know how many times I've checked around to see if this movie would ever make it to Blu Ray, then boom... out of nowhere a REVIEW pops up with a release date a few weeks after? Music to my ears when I saw that.

Day one purchase and a proud double dip for me. If I had to wait a month to get it for free I wouldn't.

I wish they'd just release the entire Spike Lee Joint Collection on BD.

Clockers DVD quality is just awful. I wonder how well it'd convert. We definitely need a new and major upgraded version.

I guess it's the difference between satire and anger.

Do the Right Thing has a lot of Spike Lee's anger (in my opinion) where with Bamboozled he manages to convey a similar message with humor. In Bamboozled, think of the acronyms for the WB tv station and the UPN network that he wrote into that onscreen comedy routine.

He still shows that racism is around, has been all along in the entertainment world, from the Minstrel shows on forward, but rather then hitting you over the head with a hammer, does it in a 'softer' manner.

Yeah... I don't sit @ the computer and check constantly for blu-ray updates. I mostly check the forums to see if anything new has been announced, and this is the first thread on Do The Right Thing that I've seen. It came out of nowhere to me.

Oh boy, this is bad. Check out the DVD Beaver review: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...ng_blu-ray.htm

Universal has ruined the color timing of this. It's not what Spike Lee made. They've changed it from the hottest day of the year to a breezy spring day.

I don't think they ruined anything. It looks fantastic. When the Criterion disc came out people complained that it was way too "orange".

It looks much more naturalistic now, while still retaining the feel of heat in the picture. I know the DP approved the Criterion transfer, but I think it was a bit too overdone with the orange.

Have you watched the blu-ray or are you basing your judgement solely on a few screenshots on the internet? Watch it in action, it's phenomenal.

Cannot wait to see/hear Rosie Perez and Public Enemy opening title/dance sequene in high-def!!! This film is a must own. Lee is a great filmmaker. 25th Hour, Jungle Fever, and Summer of Sam would make amazing blu-rays as well.
