Default New This Week: 09/18/2007 Wow Wow Warner Edition

After some very dry weeks overall, this week is kicking things off in a sizeable way with a quantity of diverse titles. Where do your hard earned greenbacks fall?

Probably Alexander (although my money isn't all green hehe). I enjoyed parts of this movie in theaters so I have hopes for the director's cut.

The Departed for me plus I picked up Goodfellas last week. I am supporting Warner 2 of my 6 Blu are Blu from Warner. If they brought out Batman Begins in Blu I would get it in a nano-second if that were the case 1:2 would be my ratio of Warner to Blu Ray !

Come on Warner you're smarter than Paramount, arn't you ?

I ordered A Few Good Men and Troy which seems to be the way that many have we gone so far. The new James Blunt CD ships this week as well which is high on my list.

I ordered Troy and A Few Good Men quite awhile ago. As I was/am on the fence about Alexander and The Condemned, I'll be picking those 2 up this week in support of the Buyathon on the 18th

I've got troy, and I'm considering getting Alexander, or (not a new release but...) Kingdom of Heaven or we are Marshal. I dunno, any suggestions, have yet to see any of the 3.

Definitely getting Troy. Unfortunately, Deliverance is the kind of movie you only want to see once

If you want some absolutely fantastic bargains on Warner Blu-ray movies, go to their online site (link below) and use a special online discount code. The code is RNFS. I'm not sure how long this code will be good for. Remember, the operable words sometimes are "you snooze, you lose".

This discount applies not only for Blu-rays already released, but also for a number of their releases which are currently pre-orders. And I went "hog wild" over there because of the great prices. For example, among my preorders are Blade Runner: 5-Disc Complete Collector's Edition (BD) for $22.46 (the MSRP is $39.99, so this is about 44% off) and Deliverance (BD) for $14.96 (the MSRP is 28.99, so this is over 48% off). All the movies I bought (or pre-ordered) that had a MSRP of 28.99 cost me only $14.96 each. These $14.96 movies included Full Metal Jacket (Deluxe Edition), Wyatt Earp, Twilight Zone, The Movie, Blood Diamond, etc. The prices are unbelievably good and include a wide selection. I cancelled some of my Amazon pre-orders. Where possible I prefer to buy directly from the studio.

When you first go into the site, the prices you see aren't the ones that you end up getting. When you click on "Add to Cart and over there add the Discount Code, the final lower price will appear. And for orders over $60 shipping is free. And, depending on what state you're in there is no sales tax (I'm in Maryland and there is no tax); sales tax apparently depends upon whether there's a Warners physical presence in your state.
