I'd get this in a heartbeat but I'd like for them to add "Hey You" back in. It would also be nice if they would release "The Wall Live" on BD.

I've seen it in HD on Palladia. While I'm uncertain if it's just up-converted or a true HD transfer, it certainly looks better than the DVD release. A BD release would be most welcome. As for other PF releases PULSE is not a likely candidate as it was shot in SD video. Delicate sound of thunder was shot on film, but Gilmour&Co have no desire to release it on DVD much less BD. Only other PF title we might see on BD one day would be Live at Pompeii.

Your user name is certainly appropriate for posting in this thread with Arnold_Layne!

Is it a lot better on HD or just marginally? Woudl I be wrong to assume that if its being shown in HD on Palladia that a Blu-ray may indeed be forthcoming?

This must come out on Blu-ray. Anytime I wonder what Blu-ray to buy next, I search for this hoping and praying that my wishes will come to fruition. I will pre-order this the moment I find out about it. Maybe with Roger Waters going on The Wall tour later this year, enough interest will be piqued. There is a reason kids still listen to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, etc. IT'S GREAT MUSIC THAT OBVIOUSLY STANDS THE TEST OF TIME!!! Please give the public what we want, The Wall on Blu-ray!

I voted yes. Being a big PF fan I must have this in blu.

Hoping to go to see Waters later this year but it wouldnt be the same without Gilmour, Wright or Mason. I did see Floyd on the 94 tour and it was a religous experience. Only shows to come close was Paul Mccartney and 3rd row for Page/Plant reunion tour. .

P.U.L.S.E. was shot on video, so that will never have a Blu-ray release.

I agree, but sadly a Pink Floyd reunion will never happen since Waters and Gilmour don't speak to each other. Also Syd Barrett died of cancer in July of 2006 and Richard Wright died of cancer in Sept of 2008.

Personally I would rather see David Gilmour since Pink Floyd didn't really take off until he joined in 1968.

Of course YES.

And bring along Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii too.

Also, what about Delicate Sound of Thunder? Or was that one shot on video?

It's coming!

Quote recently from James Guthrie:

"I will be doing a 5.1 mix of The Wall for release on SACD, but we don't have a planned release date for that yet. The original multitrack tapes are in pretty bad shape, so the project will take some time. I'm currently working on a Blu-ray release of 'The Wall' Movie"

I saw this in hidef on HDNet Movies awhile back and what surprised (and annoyed) me was the print did not look pristine, the print that was used notably during 'Comfortably Numb' had a lot of nicks and scratches - I really hope the eventual bluray cleans up those imperfections - but on the plus side the animation and the colors add great pop to the image.

He also said this, when asked if there were plans to release Live at Pompeii on BD:
Quote:
Some years ago, Adrian Maben and I had many conversations about that very thing. We made some good progress, but ran into budget problems. The Floyd do not own the rights to 'Live at Pompeii', so they do not have their usual level of influence over it. Don't hold your breath, but I am hoping we can come back to that one in the future.
