I can't wait for this one as well. Amazing audio quality. I never realized how bad the DVD's picture quality is until I got a big screen front projector. One of the worst PQ. Blu would be awesome.

Tonight, wife was gone, cats were in the bedroom, dog was next door and what does this mean? It means I can crank up the volume. And what movie was I thinking? "War of the Worlds"

Damn, the AQ was great as a DVD. I ran to my computer, logged on to Blu-ray.com to discover the movie is still only a DVD.

I cannot wait until it becomes a Blu. What a sound it will have.

picture quality will be never pristine. it's not the look they were going for...same thing goes for Minority Report. These will be washed out and grainy, as this was the director and DP's (Janusz Kaminski) intention.

I want a new version, too, and it might as well be on BD. Despite the previous 2-disc edition on DVD that I enjoyed, I was left wanting for a bit of substance, such as an audio commentary. The current special editions have a lot of standard promotional material. Hopefully a future BD editioin will add something new like textual or audio commentary.

Its beyond pathetic. nuff said!

Agreed Bogo, this movie should be on blu ray for a long time now.

I just hope they treat the audio aspect right as this will be a must buy for any audio enthusiast.

I'm waiting for criterion to release the 1953, as it has already focused on the blob.

Would be nice to have these classics come to Blu soon
