Would make sense, as long as the planet was not cracked in two- you just have powerful enough props to fight the currents. Cruise around and pop up after a while and look for an exposed land mass if any.
Assumes: Life sustaining atmosphere maintained, and exposed land mass after the "event." If you had enough "ships", you might have 1 or more actually make it. Would need enough specimens of desired organisms for large enough gene pool to grow populations. Just saying... |

I think it has to do with our sun lining up with the center of the galaxy or something like that.

What a complete and total waste of money. They should just leave the teaser trailers out there because prior to seeing this one I actually planned on checking the movie out. Now, I'll pass. |

Had a thought a few days ago.
The population of the human race grows at a rate somewhat close to an exponential growth curve. Each human breath uses oxygen and exhales carbon dioxide. So, there could be a time when the population reaches a number where we literally take our last breath. The big nasty with exponential growth is that it sneaks up on you. Suppose a lake and a lily pad. The lily pad doubles is size everyday and will cover the lake in 30 days. No one notices that the lily pad covers half the lake on the 29th day and the next day- poof, covers the whole lake. The point is that it sneaks up on you. In this theory though, degrading air quality would most likely cause a flat line in population numbers- which would NOT be a pleasant place to live. There are endless books on the 2012 date. The largest item being that the Mayan calendar has counted down since it's creation to that date. Ours counts up, theirs counts down. Sorry kids, but that's kinda spooky anyway you slice it. + There are some astronomical oddities happening like near misses and alignment as well. Remember: have a generator for your stereo, enough alcohol to last, and a few guns to protect your party as you enjoy the last show. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Grevlin; 06-18-2009 at 09:50 PM. |

The modern calendar we use gave us seasons and holidays, their calendar tells eclipse and so forth, 100 of years before it occur. Now that's something. Funny thing is when people say 2012 is just another Y2k, what they don't understand is that the 2012 thing has been going on in the background long before the Y2K hype was even born. 2012 is a universal thing, science, religion, world-view, etc. While Y2k is just some lame computer bug, which can be fix. |
