On the whole downward spiral of quality S-E games, I think one needs to take a look at when Sakaguchi left (in '04). The man was involved in pretty much every major project Square had for a while.

Director (FF1 - FF5)
Original Concept (FF1, FF2, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF9, Parasite Eve)

Producer, Exec Producer or Supervisor on countless others. Go take a look at the projects the man had his hands on, IMO very few of them could be considered a flop, yet look at the list of titles Square had released and there a few he wasn't involved in, which are pretty poor. Sure towards the end as he took on more responsibility he wasn't as directly involved in the smaller projects, but the man still touched nearly every major one....

Would be great to see Nomura, Kitase and Sakaguchi reunited (because I haven't been a fan of Sakaguchi's new studio's latest works on his own)

If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase FFXIII for either system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and cancel FFXIII for 360 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Calm down people. Square are making FFXIII for PS3 and FFvXIII exclusively. After these two projects are finished a managerial shake up is due...

It's more then likely that Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant were done by the B teams. Last Remnant isn't actually all that bad, it just runs poorly. Infinite Undiscovery though is just textbook poor design.
What about Star Ocean 4, that wasn't done by and b teams. It was tri-Ace's triple A team and it runs like dogshit on the 360. I'm really hopeful for End of Eternity, but they could barely get single platform development down for the easier of the two consoles, so I worry about the PS3 version of the game...

I always get intrigued when you drop an icon like that one. This another prophecy?

Get over it, S-E is not what they used to be in the last gen. Squaresoft was even better than S-E. But now that they have gone Western-style Nomura and Kitase should leave the company as fastest as they can.
There is nothing to get over. IU and LR were likely developed by SE's B teams. FFXIII looks nothing short of amazing.

I have no faith in that game. I think they will mess up with the multiplatform deal.

Well we all know stealing underwear will eventually lead to profit.

Nobody has figured out Phase 2... if only we could solve that problem...
Could pull the old M$ trick and just pay off the S-E board to remove Wada.

I thought the meaning of phase 2 was wait till someone smart enough came along and figured it out which would lead to phase 3.

I sometimes wonder if this is how ceos think.. I swear the CEO of our company thinks this way.

I still firmly believe that FFXIII is vaporware. And because the mainline title won't ever come out, I don't think Versus and Agito will ever come out either.

I mean, this doesn't contradict anything you said, as those projects would be considered "finished" eventually either way, but that's just how I feel about this matter.

Sorry but Star Ocean never was a huge JRPG... certainly no where near FF series.

I learned what Phase 2 was when I played Final Fantasy 8: Invoke your GFs to refine the underpants (and whatever else is needed) into something useful.

But but earthbound teaches us throwing underpants at enemies cause status ailments which may turn the battle..

Or maybe we can fart on them wrap them around eggs to make them hatch quicker allowing you to make money sooner..

How do you figure that?

Star Ocean 3: Till the End of time was released
Japan: February 27, 2003
NA: August 31, 2004

And had a directors cut too.

Japan as of 2008 sold 533,373 copies
NA as of July 2006 sold 630,000 copies

It took quite a while for it to burst the 1 million barrier. This is on a console with a large user base too (the PS2).

The original Star Ocean 3 was a extremely bugged game, the directors cut fixed the game but was released years later.. How many games with game wrecking bugs release over 300k copies?

Cheers.
