I'm going to try to see this Friday morning (day of release). Kind of excited... but it's the first Miyazaki film I'm watching in English dubbed since Princess Mononoke came out on VHS.

Thats exactly how I feel. The Japanese actress was so sweet and cute, I don't think Cyrus can bring that.

I think Glen Close was miscast also. I would have preferred Meryl Strep.

Can't wait for this on Blu! Hopefully they release other Miyazaki films too!

For anyone who haven't seen Ponyo its Highly recommended if you are a fan of Mayazaki. A masterpiece and worth the dime. Day one purchase for me as well.

I still want Spirited Away on BD.

I want:
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
Kiki's Delivery Service(RIP Phil Hartman, his final role as the cat)
Castle of Cagliostro
My Neighbor Totoro

I haven't seen his other films. I did see Howl's but I didn't like it very much.

I'd buy all them in a heartbeat as well, whenever I can watch TV, if a Miyazaki film is on I watch it all the way to the end. I love his films.

I watched this in the theater. English version wasn't bad. I was never pulled out of the movie because I was busy cringing over the voice like James Van der Beek in Castle in the sky. I always watch the English version because I have a kid that can't read yet and I like it better.

Movie was very good a little to cutsie for me, even thought the driving water scene was awesome. I like a bit darker bend like Mononoke but I still will prob pick this up.

Watched this on TV when I was in Japan two weeks ago. Simply beautiful! As always with Miyazaki/Ghibli. Definitely getting it on Blu-ray.

Although we thoroughly enjoyed it and it looks stunning, I still believe Tonari no Totoro and Sen to Chihiro to be the better movies. Tonari no Totoro has a stronger atmosphere in the innocent Japanese childhood genre (according to my wife, at least) and I loved Sen to Chihiro's coming of age theme.

However, all of that doesn't take away how splendid this movie was and even though it's not at the top of my Ghibli list, it's still a 5-star anime movie in my book.

I highly recommend it to any anime fan.

The local dollar theater in town got it back in like October and I took my brother and sister to go see it on the big screen since they have watched the DVD I have of the film. It felt odd watching it in English after watching the Japanese version over and over again. However, that end credit song in English was freakin' horrible.

I got it today and I watched it in Japanese and then decided to see if the English dub was as bad I remembered it. Oh, yes. When Ponyo spoke, I was like; "Nope."
