I doubt the movie cash is applicable to the IMAX presentations.

Everytime I've used MovieCash, its written as having a value up to x amount of dollars. As long as the theater accepts it, you just have to pay the difference if any. Otherwise whatever balance is leftover is just forfeited.

Me 5. I too think the castle is badass... It would for sure be a pillar of my home theater... well it will when I have one... but hopefully by 2012, I'll have one.

I've read about them releasing extended versions as well. I don't want to splurge for a box set just to be P.O."d when they release a new box set with extended editions.

Where did you hear of these "extended versions?" If true, it would be awesome!

Sorcerer's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prizoner of Azkaban had the deleted scenes reinstated for the TV airings - IMO, Chamber works so much better with all the scene back in.

I think Socerer's Stone DVD had the deleted scenes added? I could be wrong?

It's obvious they're trying to standardize the look of the artwork across the sequels, but I really hope they change it by the time they finish up the last one.
The books are all labeled year one, year two, etc. I think that's why they did it.

I don't think that's the case, but someone here could prove me wrong. The television edit actually had an extended scene in the subway car (between Harry and Hagrid) that I don't think was even included on the DVD.

question: is the broadcast version of 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' the theatrical cut or an extended cut as with the prior films?

I thought about waiting until it was all done but that's years from now, so I just purchased it from someone today. I figured I could buy the rest individually or buy the set if they happen to have something entirely different by then.

I figured my purchasing habits of the "Star Wars", "Star Trek" and "Lord of the Rings" films have been in the last two decades...looking at my track record for film series, I'll probably owning several multiple versions of Harry Potter.

It says it on the spine, not in big letters on the front cover.

And hey, what do you know, the previous home video releases were the same. Identified clearly and concisely on the spine, and not in big letters all over the front.

Does anyone know when the rereleases are coming out? Before half prince or later this year? Will the rerelease drop the price of the current set?

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a re-release when a new film is to be released. But if Costco is selling Years 1-5 for $65, that is a great price and also you get the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 version if your receiver can't play uncompressed PCM.
