Yeah, i think it's late ... : May 8th (theaters) -> November 17th ... = 6 months !
Thought the release date would be in October ...

Is there any chance they'll do this in TrueHD 7.1? Since they've done the first 6 like that, I think they should do all eleven movies in 7.1.

Or have there been confirmed specs which point to TrueHD 5.1? If so, I bet the TNG films will be 5.1 as well

This may be the fourth Day One purchase for me....Loved the movie in theaters...Only other ones have been Coraline, Watchmen and Dark Knight.

Six months is not too bad. When Tim Burton's "Batman" was released on VHS within six months of its theatrical release, that was considered fast back in 1989.

With this title releasing and a high probability that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will release on the same day. 11/17/2009 is shaping up to be the greatest day of the year!

I loved the movie in IMAX, there's no way I won't pick this up release day! I do wish they would stick with their audio formula thus far with 7.1 being the norm for all of the other star trek releases on big blu, but, I'll love 5.1 if not!

That movie was great, J.J. really pulled out all of the stops, can't wait for the next one; and trust me---there will be a next one!!!

I agree that it's a good movie but it could be hailed as the greatest movie ever but if you hate ST...I mean it's probably more of an action movie than a ST movie but I still don't think you'd like it. I think that's kind of a weird release date. Why not just wait for sometime closer to the holidays? Oh wait, now I remember...a little film you may have heard of might be taking that one.
