Some people just didn't like it because they've seen the same thing done a hundred times already.

Thumbs up Sorry most of you hated one of the best movies in Horror history

This movie was great from start to finish. The ending was awsome and just because the bad guys won most people cant accept it. I loved this movie and watch it anytime I can. Its true to life and shows that not everyone survives.

Best quote of the day!
I bet most kids that hate this movie also hate the ending to The Mist. When the bad guys win, it's automatically a horrible movie?

First, the bad guys did not win.
[Show spoiler]The girl screams at the end, indicating she is still alive, unless that is something dead bodies do

That was my problem with the movie; it did not have the guts that the MIST had, it just did the predictable thing,
[Show spoiler]Kill half the remaining people, and leave one person still alive to enact vengeance in the next movie
, SUCKED.

However, I did like that it escaped from the Hostel-type genre that has dominated horror for the last few years. That is why this and SAW outshine all the rest of the horror movies of late.

The ending was still suck-balls though.

It was a medium movie. (6.5/10)

It doesn't deserve a sequel

So then you must think that the original TCM sucked also? Same ending...
[Show spoiler]the girl also got away. Plus, how do you know Liv will "enact vengeance" in the next one? I heard the strangers drive into a trailer park and terrorize new victims.

I really liked the 1st one, but I rather is stand alone as its own movie and not have some crappy sequel.

EXACTLY! I completely agree (except that the Strangers outshone other horror movies).

Also about the Mist, i don't really see how the "bad guys" won. I just see the ending as a very sad one.

I love it when the bad guys win. It happened in The Dark Knight! The good guys couldn't undo what happened so they try to cover it up (will it work, we'll find out next time).

New York Knicks Amare Stoudemire Investing in 'The Strangers: Part 2'?

Quote:
t's no secret that a lot of NBA players invest in movies. I know of a few former and recent Indiana Pacers that do so, not to mention Baron Davis has his own company here in Los Angeles. The list goes on and on, but one to note is New York Knick Amare Stoudemire who may be dabbling in a little trailer park violence.

According to the NY Post, the Knicks star, who's also a fashion designer and actor, is now in discussions with Relativity Media mogul Ryan Kavanaugh to executive-produce the long delayed The Strangers 2, a sequel to the 2008 chiller The Strangers.

The original flick starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as a couple staying in an isolated summer house who are terrorized by masked assailants.

It was produced by Relativity's Rogue division with a mere $9 million budget and grossed more than $80 million worldwide.

Stoudemire raved about The Strangers to the Post at Tuesday night's Whitney Art Party in Chelsea, which he co-hosted along with Shala Monroque and Eddie Borgo. "Ever see 'The Strangers?' It's a scary movie . . . It's crazy," he told them.

Good, now throw some of that $100 million in Kavanaugh's pocket and get us a movie!

i wish the story stayed a bit truer to the real story...but, i know many people who love it.. and many like myself who thought it was meh......people who like it seem to say its because it can happen to them, which i can understand
