I just love this saga so much, and I'm glad the third one BD is stunning the way it is supposed to be.

ALMOST all the reviewers, except Blu-Ray.com

This is disappointing.
It's the way At World's End was being filmed. The story itself was meant to be darker, where the first two was more campy and fun.
I'd somewhat agree that AWE is very marginally lower than the first two in terms of PQ, because the first two was so stunning. The chapters involving that sand beach island was magnificant and eye popping good. So perhaps there was some sort of high expectations when it came to AWE, which never really had such bright visuals.

Either way, AWE is definitely among the best BDs around that offered superb PQ and AQ.

Don't worry about it. The video is 1080p through and through.

It's just that it is a darker movie featuring darker shots in terms of cinematography. But the PQ is as much good as the first two, from what I've read. People just tend to confuse cinematography with transfer.

I think the PQ is just as good as the second one. Both of them have better PQ than the first movie. But the first movie is the one I actually watch every once in a while whereas I rarely watch the two sequels.

So can anyone tell me what is the deal with the grain in that shot in the second movie?
