I think there's alot of people that would have liked the second better if it was called something besides Blair Witch. I think I would have appreciated the second one more if they didn't throw the Blair Witch name on it to sell tickets but that's just me. This third one has been rumored ever since the second one came out, they wanted to do a prequel from what I read many years ago.

I could see where you are coming from. If it was called something else then the movie may have been better.

I herd the same thing. I really hope it go's through. 1st one was good. 2nd one was ok, but it explained the first one.

To be honest I have to hand it the original Blair Witch Project, Their Marketing Campaign was Brilliant.

Why? As long as there is no camera shaking and there are hot lesbian love I got no problem with it....

Kind of like people would have liked Halloween III better if it didn't use the Halloween name despite not having Michael Myers. No wait, Halloween III was just horrible. I do agree about Blair Witch 2 though. It seemed like it was just trying to capitalize on the Blair Witch fame. It was an interesting DVD though, as it had the movie on one side of the disc and soundtrack on the other side.

There was a second?

Well it has to be as bad as the 1st so the 3rd will most likely suck as well

According to IMDB it opened on 3,317 screens, which is more than most movies. It grossed $13 million it's opening weekend but only ended up with about $26 million.

The first one IMHO was worse then the sequel. I was bored tears with both though.

I believe that after the success of the first film, they planned to make 2 sequels but with the bad results of the second part, the project for the third flick was dismissed.

At the time I was really impressed by the first movie. Then again you need to watch it in the right atmosphere as in a darkened room and quite loud to get into the story - otherwise it won't be scary at all, which is the whole point of the movie.

I was planning to get the DVD, I take it that a blu-ray release is not likely due to the original source limitations - pretty much like 28 days later, that looks just like an upconverted dvd…

There's a few horror message boards I frequent, and I'm really quite surprised at how many people actually really dig part 3. I wouldn't say I like it, but the first time I saw it was a total wtf moment for me. But I've seen it a few more times since then and I dislike it less and less each time.

Still meaning to check it out at some point... Keep putting it off because of the bad things I have heard about it.

To this day, 'The Blair Witch Project' is the only movie that actually scared me. The end scene really had an effect on me.

As for the second, I won't lie, I thought it was alright. But to call it "The Blair Witch 2" is just ridiculous, but it had to get out somehow, right?

As for the third, I would love to see another installment starting off right after the first. I think it would have a decent amount of potential to earn some money if advertised right, but it woill come nowhere near what the first one made. but hey, if "Saw" can keep making crappy movies on the cheap that makes millions, why can't 'The Blair Witch'?

That's pretty much how I feel about it. Loved the first one enough to leave the sequels out.
