Help me think of this movie title - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

In 2001 we know that it's an artificial entity from the get go...

yeah, depends what he means by "ends up". if he just means in the sense of the movie progressing on (as oppose to a character shift, as you point out), then yes, it could be 2001.

I feel like the movie is more obscure than 2001... though I could be wrong.

Sphere? It's not on a spacecraft, but it kind of looks like one when they're on the ocean floor... and than the computer talks to them. I duno. I'm about 100% posititve he's thinking of Alien.

I don't think it's Alien, cuz I remember how that goes, but heck, for the longest time I was trying to remember something from an episode of The Outer Limits and I ended up watching 12 Monkeys the other day, and it turns out that was what I was trying to remember. So for now, I'll go with tentatively, it could be Alien, maybe I should rent it and watch it again.

I believe the movie you're thinking of is Saturn 3. It was released in 1980, and it starred Kirk Douglas, Harvey Keitel, and the late Farrah Fawcett.

I own this film...I always liked it (even if Harvey Keitel was dubbed).
