Are you talking current 3D in home or Real 3D in the theatres?

Beowulf in 3D at the theatre was one of the best theatre experiences I have ever had.

Everyone that is still unsure of 3D needs to go see Avatar. And I don't get all these people *****ing and moaning about how they don't want to wear some glasses for 2 hours. I can't even begin to imagine what they would be like if they had to wear glasses for medical reasons.

Go see a movie that is not even out yet and that was only seen for about 14 minutes in 3D to a very small group of people?
I believe in 3D being a viable entertainment source but do not force the Avatar kool aid down people's throats.
I agree with you about the glasses, I personally never realize that they are on but the one problem I do have is that they need to be curved around the sides of your eyes/head.
I hate scanning left or right and see around the glasses.

I do wear glasses for medical reasons and there's no way I'd want to wear glasses for a movie. I hate wearing glasses as it is. Enough with the money hungry gimmicks from studios. We have a medium in Blu Ray that's nearing perfection so why screw around with it (already). The studios are lucky people started moving to Blu Ray and that it's catching on because a lot of people are still very very happy with DVD. We home theater fanatics are the minority, not the majority. Most people I talk too are happy with their "normal size" tv's and DVD's.

I wear glasses all the time and 3D glasses on top of them is far from comfortable, let me tell you. I am not the type to wear contact. I've seen 2 movie so far in 3D, first Bolt and I was disspaointed, colors look awful, movie was fuzzy and it was like looking through a snowy window. When I got the BD I was happy, yes finaly nice imagine. The other was Monsters vs Aliens. Great picture quality, colors were perfect. Trouble in this case it show exactly what 3D is use for by Hollywood, try to sell a lousy product with a gimmick. Monster vs Aliens was not a great movie.

I know the red/blue glasses give a lot of people headaches from eye strain, my wife had this issue but when she put those glasses over her regular eye glasses it was no longer an issue. She has never had an problem with the clear glasses at the theatre though.

3-D in home is the worst, Not powerful enough system to handle 3-d. I prefer 3-d in theatres better.

I think most would agree with you there... These threads are talking about the future of 3D in home in a different way than what is currently done, which would be much more similar to the way theatres display 3D.

Have U watched a 3D movie at the theater yet?

To all the people that are b**** about 3D: go see Final Destination 3D.
Make sure to sit at the center of the room and not on the last row.

I was not interested in 3D either; however, I went to see Final D last Monday and the 3D presentation put a smile in my face. By the way, I never smile ever. It was really a great experience.

On a side note my samsung with the amp on high looks 3-d to me.Like Theres no screen its just weird.

Ditto.

Just watch the 3D Avatar trailer that plays before Final Destination 3D and admit you wouldn't mind seeing that same quality in a home theater.

to me 3dtv should have the lens built into the set so the tv becomes one big eye-ware instead of glasses

here's what I don't understand-- I have 2 blu-rays in my collection that have the 3-D option-- (My Bloody Valentine and Journey to the center of the
earth)--

while it is fun to see the 3-D option I much prefer the 2-D because the clarity is 100 times better. In 3-d the PQ is diminished a lot--- if you were
watching hi-def movies all the time in 3-D-- wouldn't that defeat the whole
purpose of upgrading movies from dvd to blu-ray???
